Aristos Mail Tech
Mailhouse helping businesses save time and/or money when they deal with Canada Post
12/19/2025
A doublish rainbow over our house. No pot of gold yet.
Back to Work
Aristos Mail will be able to deposit mail to Canada Post as of Thursday Dec 19 for domestic mail and Monday Dec 23 for international mail. Canada Post is not promising any delivery standards as they have a backlog to clear but are processing the mail in order of receipt.
We will be clearing out our backlog in the warehouse and processing new mailings as they come in.
With service restored we are here to save time/money for our customers when they deal with Canada Post. If you are mailing invoices, promotional material, magazines, charitable solicitations give us a call and we can help.
The Postal Strike
Here we are 7 days with no delivery. How does that affect us/you?
Mail that was deposited prior to the strike, but not delivered is being securely held in post office facilities. Mail will be delivered on a first in first out basis once they are back to work.
We are presently processing mail which we will deposit when the post office is back to work. The volume that we can handle is only limited by the size of our warehouse.
We look forward to providing normal service once the labour situation has been resolved.
Half a lifetime ago.
It was in the summer of 1989 that I started calling businesses with the sophisticated marketing pitch of “Do you send anything out in the mail?” There were enough affirmative responses that we are still here 35 years later.
We didn't mark the milestone earlier but better late than never.
Little did I know that people would appreciate an approachable business that could:
navigate the post office rules to access lower postage rates
give advice on material design and specifications
provide addressing and inserting services
Our success is due to:
the current staff of Steve, Jean, Jamie, Gerry and Cameron and
all that have gone before.
the clients that have been with us for 35 years and those that
are new to us this year and all those in between.

Supply Chain Issues and How They Affect Your Mail
The print/mail system is not immune from disruption due to supply, transportation and pricing issues. Aristos has always tried to provide timely service but recently we are experiencing some unavoidable delays.
Stock:
Paper stock is difficult to come by at the moment; if you need a particular type of paper it is best to let us or your printer know as soon as possible.
Envelope stock is also affected by the paper shortage. Non-standard envelopes are difficult, if not impossible, to source at the moment as the industry focuses on keeping standard size envelopes in stock.
Transportation:
Shipping backlogs can result in delays even when material is in stock. We have experienced delays of up to 5 days for deliveries from Vancouver.
Canada Post, like most businesses, is also dealing with staffing issues which will affect the time it takes mail to reach its destination.
Price:
The price of stock is fluctuating heavily so quotes we receive from our suppliers may only be accurate for 7 days.
If you are contemplating a mailing, plan ahead to allow time to source printing and materials and get the mail to your customers ahead of important dates. Understanding and allowing for these delays will help you avoid frustration and continue to get the most out of your direct mail.

The Annual Canada Post Price Change Has Happened
The annual increase has taken effect January 10, 2022. For the second year in a row the 92¢ price has remained the same for a booklet of stamps, all other prices have gone up varying amounts.
Aristos will still assist you in paying the least amount possible for postage.
Please visit our Postal Rates page at aristosmail.com for links to the current price sheets.

As we look forward to brighter days ahead (in more ways than one!) we continue to push ourselves ahead to serve your mailing needs. In this instance by replacing our workhorse Ricoh 1107 printer with a wonderful upgrade in the form of a quicker, newer Ricoh 8220!
As anyone who has taken the nickel tour will attest, finding extra space in our shop can be hard, so we couldn’t let the opportunity go by without a picture of the lack of printer in the front office.
Our new machine is humming along already, waiting to help you with your next mailing. Come take advantage this summer!
