I need to get back to painting as I really miss it 💕

On March 15th, 2017, I had a biopsy of a right breast lump I had found while taking a bath. This was only the beginning of 4-years of extreme “highs and lows”. There were some good days, some bad days and some days that were unbearable. I surprised myself at just how strong I could be. Cancer definitely changes you; most importantly it makes you prioritize your life and toughens you up. Daily pain and other medication side effects still wreak havoc on my body and soul, but no matter what, I am grateful today to be a 4 YEAR CANCER SURVIVOR and so happy to be alive!

Just finished painting my “Inspirational Rocks”. I did these to spread KINDNESS and LOVE. We all need a reason to smile...or a simple message at just the right time to change our day. Now this is taking KELLY ROCKS to a whole new level!!! Lol 😂. I was asked to paint a bee for someone for their rock garden, which then turned into me painting 25 other rocks! Each rock is hand drawn and painted (no copying or stencils used). I sure LOVE being creative ... It is so therapeutic and makes me so HAPPY😃! Any ideas what I should do with these rocks now???

Yesterday “Kelly Rocks” proudly donated $800 to the BC Cancer-Victoria COVID-19 Response Fund on behalf of the Rock 4 A Reason Charitable Society. I made 21 of my rock art pictures and donated 100% of the money to this very worthy cause. Unfortunately, cancer does not take a pause during this pandemic crisis and many services have been forced to close such as the Cancer Lodge and Volunteer Driver Programs. This fund has been set up to help cancer patients and their families with grocery gift cards, taxi vouchers, accommodation costs and other expenses. KELLY ROCKS is now open for business once again!!! I’m doing a limited amount of my rock art. The rocks were collected on the beaches around my hometown of Victoria, BC 🇨🇦. I will be doing 20 pictures in total. They sell for $30 for the 5x7 (bee and turtles), and $40 for the 8x10 (birds and cat/dog). If you don’t live in Victoria, I will ship to you at your own expense. These pictures will be sold on a first come first serve basis. E-transfer for payment works best at this time. I will message you once you commit to purchase by commenting below.

In my experience with life after breast cancer, the “after” has been much harder than the “during”. During treatment you are fighting it, beating it, and doing everything you can to survive. Your mind is focused on getting it done, getting it beat….WINNING! After all the surgeries and treatments, it hits you like a ton of bricks. It is nothing like I expected.
My hope is that I can help one person, that has come thru to the other side, to be kind to themselves, to let themselves heal. It takes time, and lots of it! Don’t push yourself…this isn’t a race! Take care of you!!!
