It's now been one week since the show so I think it's time to finally hang up the unhinged all caps posting for an APPRECIATION POST (okay, maybe just a little all caps, as a treat)

Thank you so much to everyone who has listened to the album, purchased the album and/or came to the show. I truly cannot express my gratitude in words well enough to convey my appreciation here. While I'm grateful for every time someone plays one of my songs on Spotify so I can get 1/28th of a penny or whatever, it is really special and sososo nice to play a proper show with my band again to a lovely, engaged audience.

Hoping to play more in the coming year. Stay tuned for deets. If you need to get ahold of me, I'll be noodling around on my acoustic and making pizza bagels in my apartment 🍕🎸

I just released a song last weekend called "paisley" -

It was written shortly after Trump's inauguration and talk of "51st state" nonsense.  It discusses hypocrisy on all levels and a breakdown of existing VERY imperfect systems to be replaced by even worse ones. There's a potent visual metaphor for this going on with the demolition of the White House right now...It also touches on the fascist in group/out group mentality that many of his followers seem to ascribe to, blaming all their problems on immigrants/LGBT+/vaccines/whichever foreign country they are told to hate that week by the dear leader, as well as the classic Goebbels "accuse the opposition of whatever you're doing" strategy that is fully in place right now. It's baffling to me how many would-be-career-ending-in-other-era scandals have happened in the last few months. It's overwhelming ("the tide can hide what the cameras shot etc.) and the song discusses how I see people around me everywhere minimizing or making excuses for the severity of how bad things currently are.

Finally, all this hypocrisy is also a vessel for me to reflect on times when my actions have been hypocritical (paisley, noticing patterns in my behavior). As an endlessly self-analytical artist, I can't help but get a lil' ~introspective~ too.
