Your Floor is the absolute minimum you commit to, even when life is a total mess. Maybe it’s just 2 liters of water or a 10-minute walk. It’s small, but it’s unbreakable.
Here’s the RxGRIT logic:
Own the Minimum: Turn your baseline into an automatic reflex.
Proof over Promises: Following through on your "worst days" builds a level of confidence that a "perfect day" never could. That’s how you build real grit.
The Rest is Just Gravy: When your floor is solid, the big wins—the heavy lifts, the perfect meal prep—start to feel effortless. They become the "gravy" on top of a foundation that can’t be shaken.
If you can master the minimum when things are hard, smashing your big goals when things are good becomes second nature.

The 80/20 rule is easily the most abused concept in the fitness and nutrition world. 🛑👇
We love it because it sounds balanced, but most people are using it as a blank check to completely undo their hard work.
The scary truth about the math?
That "20% of the time" can easily become 80% of your total daily calories.
It takes a lot of effort to eat 1,500 calories of clean, whole foods. It takes about five minutes to eat and drink 1,500 calories at a restaurant or when you're sitting in front of the tv with a glass of wine and a boat load of snacks in front of you.
When you don't define your boundaries, that "20% of the time" sneakily becomes 80% of your total weekly calories, completely stalling your progress.
Like any strategy in life, if you don't clearly define it, you will abuse it.
What does your 20% actually look like? If it's a moving target that expands whenever you're tired, stressed, or bored, it's time to redraw the lines. Define your boundaries so you can actually enjoy your flexibility without sabotaging your health. 🎯

Let’s talk about the word "Restriction." 👇
We live in a food environment where eating things that actively cause illness, fatigue, and inflammation is normalized, and choosing not to eat them is considered extreme. WTF?! 😳
When I decided to cut back on refined sugar, alcohol, and fast food, it didn't come from a place of self-punishment. It came from a deep desire for self-preservation and self-optimization.
What looks like restriction from the outside is actually the ultimate form of self-care on the inside.
I am protecting my body's ecosystem—my blood sugar stability, my gut health, my hormone balance, my long-term vitality, even my self-confidence.
When you realize that the food environment around us is designed to make us over-indulge, saying "no" to the noise becomes your greatest superpower. 💪

A throwback to how it started...
2012. My first year competing with the NPAA in figure category.
The first time I experienced firsthand the power of optimal nutrition. My amazing coach Kevin Ashby had me eating so much good quality food and training so smart in the gym, I grew muscles where I didn't know they existed.
I got leaner than before I even had kids. And I had more energy and vitality than I ever had in my life!
That sparked my curiosity and passion for learning all things nutritional science. How does what we eat and how we eat impact our physiology and consequently, our quality of life? I learned all that and more at the Cdn. School of Natural Nutrition and it's been my mission now ever since, to share this knowledge with others.
You really can incorporate optimal nutrition into your life in a way that is effortless and not only lets you, but allows you to live a life so fulfilling!
Because when you feel good, you show up to world around you differently. And when you show up differently, the world seem to give back more too. It's pretty amazing ❤️
Calories do not play by the rules during menopause.
If you’ve been eating the exact same way you always have, logging the exact same workouts, but suddenly feel like your weight has a mind of its own—take a deep breath. You aren’t losing your mind, and you definitely aren’t failing.
The old-school "calories in vs. calories out" rulebook? Yeah, menopause threw that right out the window.
During perimenopause and menopause, plummeting estrogen levels completely rewire how your body interacts with food. Suddenly, it’s no longer a simple math equation; it’s a hormonal chemical reaction (and let's be honest, nobody signed up for this chemistry class).
When your hormones shift, they stage a little coup on your system:
➡️ Insulin Sensitivity:
Your body becomes a bit sluggish at clearing glucose, making it way easier to store calories as midsection fat rather than burning them for fuel.
➡️ Metabolic Rate:
Natural muscle loss accelerates during this phase, which directly lowers your daily baseline calorie burn. (Rude, I know).
➡️ Sleep and Cortisol:
Disrupted sleep and hot flashes spike your stress hormones, which triggers those "need sugar right now" cravings and signals your body to stubbornly hoard its energy reserves.
This is about so much more than a number on a tracking app. Managing your health right now means shifting your focus away from the exhaustion of eating less, and moving toward balancing your blood sugar, optimizing your insulin, prioritizing protein, and actually working with your changing biology.

This isn't about starving or about all-or-nothing for the rest of your life.
This is about consistency with the basics.
Few are able to stick to these basics for 90 days, or even for 30. Most allow perceived lack of time, energy or stress to derail them.
But trust me, this is more possible than you know.
And when you've done it - when you've experienced and felt firsthand how sticking to the basics feels... you'll never accept anything less for yourself 😊 💪🏼
