For nearly 20 years, Science Venture at The University of Victoria has been proud to partner with Uu-a-thluk (Taking Care of)to bring STEM Camps to communities across the West Coast of Vancouver Island. These programs would not be possible without the passion, leadership, and commitment of the Uu-a-thluk team.

I’m grateful to work alongside such inspiring people — at Science Venture, across the Actua network, and especially at Uu-a-thluk.

High School Summer Institutes.
Take your STEM experience to the next level at UVic. These week-long programs dive deep into skills training and knowledge on a wide variety of themes. Students who volunteer with us as a JC get a discount. From Lab-skills, to green energy, Unity videogame design, and entepreneurial thinking, there is something for everyone.

It's been a while, but we're so stoked to be back up in Kyuquot/Checleseht First Nation ha-houlthee for summer science camp! We travelled up with Megan, Monroe and Gill from Science Venture, in the perfect summer weather. Are you a High School student passionate about science? Do you enjoy working with kids? If so, Science Venture offers a Junior Counsellor Volunteer program to assist our instructors in delivering exciting, fun, and quality summer programs. You’ll have the opportunity to lead games, work with a team, become more familiar with the UVic campus, and participate in the delivery of STEM programming!

We encourage you to apply! This position will help develop your leadership skills and contribute to your mandatory hours of volunteer work for graduation. In addition, JC’s will receive $100 towards a high-school camp of their choice!
