Victoria Hand Project
Victoria Hand Project provides prosthetic arms to amputees in-need, worldwide! Canadian charity.
VHP currently operates in 10 countries – Nepal, Cambodia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Haiti, Egypt, Uganda, and Kenya, as well as in under-served areas of Canada and the U.S. In many of these areas, prosthetic and orthotic care can be difficult for people to access due to the high costs associated, and a lack of infrastructure to manufacture these devices. This birthday, we’re not asking for gifts. We’re asking you to help St. Luke’s better reach their community.🎂
To celebrate our 11th milestone, we’re raising funds for new 3D printers at St. Luke’s Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital in Kenya. Right now, 93 people are waiting for a hand.
Come celebrate with us at our Open House on Wednesday, August 5th, 3:30 to 6:30 PM at UVic’s Engineering Lab Wing. Meet the team, see our work up close, and help us reach 93 more. 🇰🇪🤍
11 years ago, Victoria Hand Project started with one belief: everyone deserves a helping hand.
Today, that belief has restored independence for hundreds of people around the world. 💙
And this year, Our one wish? Helping Kenya. 🇰🇪
Right now, 93 patients in Kenya are waiting for a prosthetic hand. New 3D printers for our partners at St. Luke’s Hospital means faster production and more people helped, sooner. There’s no better way to celebrate 11 years than by making our wish come true.
Here’s to 11 years, and to everyone who’s been part of them. This milestone belongs to you!

6 days until we turn 11, so we’re counting down with 6 milestones that got us here 🦾
From a research lab at the University of Victoria to communities around the world, our journey has been shaped by incredible partners, funders, and supporters who believed in our mission at every stage. Each milestone opened a new door, and each one brought us closer to the people we serve. As we look ahead, we’re excited for the milestones still to come, and we’re endlessly grateful to every supporter who helped us get this far. This journey belongs to all of you.💙
On July 20, Victoria Hand Project turns 11. Until then, we’re counting down, one day at a time, one milestone at a time!

11 days until we turn 11
Every year taught us something new. Some years we grew fast, some years we grew deep, but every single one brought new hands, new hearts, and new places to call home. What started in one place has reached eleven countries: from the Americas to Africa to Asia to Europe.
On 20 July, VHP turns 11. Until then, we’re counting down, one day at a time, one memory at a time.
Stay tuned for our birthday celebration updates. 🌍💙

The countdown is ON! In just two weeks, on July 20th, Victoria Hand Project turns 11! 🎂
What began as a small research project at the University of Victoria has grown into something we could have only dreamed of - hundreds of people across 11 countries fitted with a prosthetic hand, and local teams empowered to provide care in their own communities.
Our birthday wish? Supporting our partners and beneficiaries in Kenya. 🇰🇪
Our partners at St. Luke’s Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital have been changing lives since 2020, but their fleet of 3D printers needs to grow to help the 93 patients that are currently on the waitlist for a prosthetic hand. New printers mean faster production and more hands reaching more people, sooner.
Help us make our birthday wish come true :blue_heart: Donate through the link in our bio, and stay tuned for our birthday celebrations 🎉

Today, we celebrate the incredible women in engineering who are using innovation, creativity, and compassion to make a difference in the world.
At Victoria Hand Project, we’re proud to work alongside talented women who help drive our mission forward, from designing and improving prosthetic technology to supporting patients, volunteers, partners, and communities around the world.
Their contributions help expand access to prosthetic care and create opportunities for greater independence and inclusion for people living with limb loss.
Happy International Women in Engineering Day! 💜

Three years ago, our community came together to support prosthetic care in Ukraine. Today, we’re incredibly grateful to see how this initiative has grown.
Together with our donors, volunteers, community partners, and clinics across Ukraine, we’ve helped raise nearly $500,000, supported hundreds of patients, and deliver 12 3D printers with 8 more on the way!
But this impact goes far beyond numbers. Through training, technology, and collaboration, local clinicians are gaining new skills, expanding access to care, and helping more individuals regain independence and embrace new beginnings after limb loss.
To everyone who has supported this initiative over the past three years: thank you. Your generosity continues to create lasting impact and hope for communities across Ukraine.💛💙

Every partnership has a story, and ours in Nepal spans a decade.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Limb Care Nepal to expand access to prosthetic care, train local clinicians, and support individuals living with limb loss. Together, we’ve celebrated milestones, overcome challenges, and witnessed the incredible impact that locally delivered care can have on communities. Through our partnership, Limb Care Nepal now helps providing prosthetic care to individuals across rural regions of the country, bringing services closer to those who might otherwise have limited access.
As we look back on moments from 2016 to 2026, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Here’s to 11 years of partnership, innovation, and impact, and to the many chapters still to come. 🇳🇵🤍
