Hello dog lovers. I was contacted by a lovely donor today who was asking if we were still operating, given that we haven't posted in a while. The answer is yes! We have diversified slightly and are running a pantry operation to support foodbanks and other rescues and have also taken in some needy pups last fall. Fortunately we have been able to adopt most without the need to advertise widely so we haven't been posting much. I'm expecting new dogs to arrive in late March and will be ready for adoption in April. Still working on the line up! We have entered into a new partnership and will be happy to fill you in when I get chance. We will try to be more communicative! I still have my wait list and those folks will be contacted first about incoming suitable pups. Cheers!

Please meet Bear who is a 1 year old shihtzu Maltese mix who is looking for his forever family. Bear is a sweet and darling little dog but is exceptionally shy and fearful as he has really experienced very little in the world having lived with his siblings and a housebound owner. Bear will require a special home where someone is home a good portion of the day and who has access to a secure yard. He will require patience and kindness as he learns to navigate new things.

Bear is unsuitable for a rambunctious family and needs a quiet home. A retired senior might just be perfect for him. He gets along well with other dogs and would be fine with a cat I think. He’s fully vetted may enjoy having a friend! He will require regular grooming to keep his coat at its best

He’s fully vetted and healthy. Please feel free to fill out an application on our website if interested. Dogbless.ca.

Adoptable Tucker!!

Please help find this lovely lad the best home! Tucker is about 2 years old and the size of a smaller whippet. He’s fully vetted and healthy and needs a home that understands prey driven dogs. He loves to hunt squirrels and rats and will surely keep any area free of large and small critters. He’s completely house and crate trained and is a super tactile and affectionate dog. He’s also very smart and comical and will need continued training to keep him mentally stimulated.

Tucker also needs plenty of exercise and will require further training if he’s to go off leash. He needs a good 1-2 hours of vigorous exercise a day and would be a brilliant running companion. He’s not a couch potato although settles well if his exercise needs are met. I think he would do super well at agility or flyball as he’s both eager and biddable.

Tucker walks well on leash and tolerates traffic but isn’t a fan. He will also bark at lunge if he sees deer. He’s does have some barrier frustration that needs to be managed but gets along well with other dogs. He really enjoys going to Woofability daycare.

Ultimately this guy will be absolutely brilliant in the right hands. Ideally a rural home with a fenced yard would be his choice. Anyone who trail runs or hikes regularly would be great.

He’s not great with cats or other small critters due to his prey drive and is likely not a great fit for a first time owner. This guy is smart, active and will push boundaries. But a more loving and devoted dog would be difficult to find!!

Hello folks. We have recently been asked to help a lady who has a number of small sh*tzu Maltese mix dogs that need rehoming. While they are young they have received very little socialization and many have never left the property. As such they are exceedingly shy and will require very patient homes that are willing to work on rehabilitation. They are suited for quiet homes, retired folks or those who work from home would be ideal. They have never been on leash or been away from their litter mates. Placing them with another confident dog may help but I cannot stress enough that rehab may take weeks if not months.

I have 2 dogs in my care who are both a year old. They are very fearful and as such we are looking for committed foster to adopt homes for these sweet boys. They tolerate grooming well and will need regular brushing or clipping to keep their coats healthy. They are fully vetted.

I cannot stress enough that these dogs will require a significant commitment. They are a long way from going for cheerful walks in the neighborhood. But they will ultimately with enough time and patience.

please do not apply to adopt these guys if you are expecting a cheery, happy outgoing family dog... these are not it. They are adorable but they need precisely the right kind of home to ensure that they will become the best dog they can.

You can apply on our website. You should get a response that your application has been successfully submitted. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, please follow up by email. Dogbless.ca
