I think I finally have to say it...
Family sessions have my heart! I just love capturing the authentic family moments, the belly laughs, kids running around... And this session was no different!

Most of the women I photograph say the same things before we start:
“I’m not photogenic”
“I don’t know what do with my hands”
“I’m going to be the most awkward person you’ve ever worked with”
And then we get into the session and something shifts... Because they were never the problem, they just needed someone to guide them!!
That’s the part of my job I take the most seriously. You will never be left standing in front of my camera wondering what to do next. I’ll direct you, show you exactly what I mean, and I will absolutely demonstrate the pose myself!
Great brand photos have nothing to do with modelling and everything to do with feeling comfortable in front of the camera.

It’s been a year since this wedding and I still think about what a beautiful day it was.

Lately I’ve been craving more true-to-life family sessions. I think it comes from wanting to remember these moments in my own life. My kids are growing, they aren’t babies, they aren’t even toddlers anymore. The hand dimples are fleeting.
This is my plea to you, from one mom with a messy house to another: book the photos. The ones that aren’t overly posed. The ones that actually reflect the life you’re building and how you truly spend your days.
Your house looks lived in? No problem, so does mine. Your kids don’t smile on demand? They don’t need to. You’re not “photogenic”? I’ve got you. And I’m here to remind you that you deserve to be in the photos too, mom.
