Sergeant (Sgt.) Francis Pegahmagabow, one of the most decorated Aboriginal members to have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Sgt. Pegahmagabow attained the rank of corporal during his service as a sniper and scout in the First World War with the 1st Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Earning a Military Medal with two bars, he is the most decorated First World War Aboriginal soldier. Through new evidence, his rank has been revised from Corporal (Cpl.) to Sgt.

Pegahmagabow a atteint le grade de caporal lors de son service en tant que tireur d'élite et éclaireur dans la Première Guerre mondiale avec le 1er Bataillon de la Force expéditionnaire du Canada. Gagner une médaille militaire avec deux barrettes, il est le soldat de la Première Guerre mondiale autochtone le plus décoré. Grâce à de nouvelles preuves, son rang a été révisé de caporal (Cpl.)
