Heh friends, I'll be out of commission for a little while. Having surgery on my hand to correct my challenges with Viking's disease.. I'll be fine but one-handed for 6 to 8 weeks. This extreme connector won't be shaking hands for the holidays...lol

Another great time at the Sidney Breakfast Club presentation with The First Tech Challenge Robotics team (FIX IT 3491). As always I was representing the team at Canadas Best Pension Plan. This time I got to hang out with my good friend Dave Des Roches from VIH Aviation. You should hear all about their execujet program!

Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre (IDHHC) is hosting an information session for employers to learn about the benefits of hiring deaf and hard of hearing employees. The event, taking place on June 5th (4pm-4:35pm), will provide information about how to make use of this resilient and adaptable pool of talent.

The presentation discuss communication strategies, the latest assistive technologies, and the funding that organizations can access to use for hearing aids, wage subsidies, and more. Fellow Chamber member John Espley of Connection Skills and Tuf-Turf will speak about his experience as an employer who benefitted from hiring three deaf/hard of hearing employees in the past year.

Participants can join online or in person at IDHHC Victoria office, 301-3960 Quadra Street. In-person guests can enjoy refreshments and a tour of IDHHC's centre and hearing clinic after the presentation. To register for the session, email [email protected].
