All That Grows

Another season has come and gone. It’s been too long since I’ve been tangling with the web but I’m logging on for the season to come.

For old and new folks, I’m Austen. I started All That Grows with a holistic approach to landscaping and being in my community.

I have a diploma in Ecosystem Management and have spent many seasons on farms, orchards and residential neighbourhoods. In the winter months, I split my time between All That Grows and working with children at a forest school helping them connect and grow with the land.

All That Grows restores, prunes, gardens and maintains any and all areas in which human and animals live.

It’s not often that I have a supervisor to keep me on track!

You wouldn’t believe but there was a fence under this massive rose!

The weight of this awesome rose bush broke the post of this fence and needed to be cut back to out in new posts and fence panels.

One day this rose will be back to its massive size (with a little more control).

Boo!

I’ve been in the thick of it but I’m still around! Here’s a blackberry clearing from the other day!

Seasons come and go and so do vehicles.

I loved my little Suzuki but it’s time had come and I needed something new.

This truck extends my range of service and allows me to have some leg room!

So keep an eye out for my logo on my new Mazda and come say hello!

The glory of pulling morning glory in the morning!

Another Saturday in the books for our Sacred Heart Garry Oak Restoration! We lucked out with our weather and have pulled a volume of almost 2000ft3! We couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers💪

Another week done of our with the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Over 800lbs of Scotch Broom, Gorse and Himalayan Blackberry!

Today was the first volunteer day of our Sacred Heart Garry Oak Restoration Project with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Victoria in Saanich!

This massive property has remnants of a Garry Oak ecosystem that has been overrun by invasive Himalayan BlackBerry and English Ivy and John, myself and wonderful community volunteers have took on the task of removing these invasive to help protect the Garry Oaks and their ecosystems to create space to plant local native plant species.

Going forward every Saturday from 10am-12pm we will be at 4040 Nelthorpe St. pulling invasive.
