Community Fridge Victoria

The fridges closure is an upsetting loss to our community. We hear everyone’s sadness, and thank everyone for reaching out with their questions. We want to honour your grief, we are deeply sad too. We are working collaboratively behind the scenes to communicate as quickly as we can! Thanks for your patience.

Please comment any local resources you know of that are offering food as we continue compile a list to share. Rest assured, our hampers are still going strong and will continue into the new year.

Community Food Support is in need of some backend support to keep our programs running! If you or anyone you know have capacity for some volunteering, please let us know by sending an email. You can also help us by sharing this post. 💕

Mark your calendars! Community theatre night is coming up this month! We've got the tickets, the snacks, and the chance for you to watch a wonderful performance of I Think I'm Fallin': The Songs of Joni Mitchell.

For real, we hope to offer folks a moment of lightness and connection. We will have food to share and a space to connect with on another 💖 This event will be a fundraiser for both our organization to ensure our food distribution program can continue and a Palestinian mutual aid project (to be determined which).

🍂This Fall you have two more ways to support Community Food Support Victoria!

1) 25% of Community Acupuncture revenues for the month of September are being donated c/o 💞
Receive treatments on Sept. 14, 21, or 28, from 10-2 on Thursdays in support of local food security (slides 1 & 2).

Heart & Hands is a Community Acupuncture and Holistic Health Collective in Lekwungen territories that serves the local community in the spirit of mutual aid 🫶🏼 Book treatments and find out more via link in bio.

2) 30% of sales from local artist for the months of September & October are being donated “to provide nourishment to those that need it”✨

Nell Nancy Ayotte is an artist and writer living on the stolen land of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lək̓ʷəŋən First Nations. Inspired by maximalist décor, ancestral ties, art of yesteryear and the ethereal, Nell’s work strives to reflect the nature of community, fluidity, infinity and the self.
