I spend my days nourishing others, but today I’m sharing a look at my own healing journey.
I’ve been wanting to talk about how chronic stress eventually manifests as physical disease. It’s a topic I’m passionate about as a holistic nutritionist, especially as I navigate my own path through perimenopause, high cortisol, and Hashimoto’s.
These aren't just buzzwords; they are physical realities that affect mood, weight, and energy. This bowl is my "medicine": Warm kale, umami-rich anchovy tahini, shiitakes, bacon, and fried eggs, with some freshly grated aged Parmigiano.
Managing reactive hypoglycemia requires more than just "cutting sugar"—it’s about strategic, nutrient-dense satiety.

A reminder about comfort and care.
These photos of food I cooked for Jan B. popped up from four years ago, and they served as a poignant reminder.
Christmas can be an incredibly difficult time for many. Jan had no family, just an incredible dog she loved more than anything. She was a deeply intelligent, kind person with a fantastic sense of humour. She loathed Christmas.
Jan hired me to cook for her after receiving her terminal diagnosis. Her meals became a different kind of nourishment—they were pure comfort and nostalgia, pescatarian meals cooked directly from her own cookbooks.
Sometimes, the greatest service we offer as chefs is simply nourishment for the soul, fueled by memory and love. My work is a constant reminder of what truly matters.

This is a gourmet menu for a client with life-threatening anaphylactic allergies to nuts, seeds, dairy, and eggs.
Ingredients are sourced locally and are primarily organic.
🤤 Braised Beef Short Rib Parpadelle (Rich and decadent!)
🦐 Spot Prawn Thai Fried Rice (perfectly seasoned)
🌱 Beef Tenderloin with mushroom, spinach, and millet
Also, on the menu were
Chicken Fajitas and Grab-and-Go Salad Jars.
With these tough dietary restrictions, my client is so grateful to eat delicious meals they know are safe 💚
