There’s something about a freestanding tub against a full-height feature wall that just settles a room. No overthinking - just material, proportion, and light doing exactly what they should.

There’s a version of every room that’s safe. Neutral enough to offend no one. Finished enough to photograph well. Technically correct.

And then there’s the version that actually stops you in the doorway.
The difference isn’t budget. It’s conviction. Knowing which material to push, which proportion to hold, which moment in the room deserves to be the one thing you notice.

That’s not a formula. It’s a point of view.

This year’s advent calendar didn’t come from a store - it came from a forgotten IKEA shelving unit and a little creative problem-solving.

As a designer, I’m always looking at what already exists and asking what else could this be? An old shelf became a full-scale advent calendar - wrapped cubbies, small daily moments, and a bit of ceremony built into the rhythm of December. No rules, no perfection. Just intention.

It’s a small example of how design doesn’t have to be precious to be meaningful. Sometimes it’s simply about re-imagining what you already have and letting it work harder, and more beautifully for your life.
