Scenes from a long weekend … enjoyed EXTRA due to the extended winter season.
We relaxed, had some guests, ate lots of good food and spent the entire time outside ☀️
Thanks to Whan Farms for the burgers and sausages and thanks to my favourite lunch date for always taking me for the best sushi around whenever I ask
Taking these long weekend vibes into the rest of the summer !!

Sometimes the weeks feel REAL long, especially as the seasons change, but then I remember that this is the place we get to live and see our dreams coming true.

Ever wondered how to eat our Smoked Rabbit ?!?

It’s been a HAWT week but summer Sundays just hit right for us around here.
In addition to off farm work for both of us Mon-Fri the end of the weeks are filled with Farmers Market prep and Saturday mornings making slow summer Sundays feel extra special.
Sometimes it’s farm work, last week it was a 3 hour escape to see the new Jurassic Park movie in a cool air conditioned theatre, and this week it was moving bales, followed by a refreshing beer from while we enjoyed dinner out, followed by dessert on the way home from the local general store.
Summer days are hot and long but we wouldn’t have it any other way …. (Cause winter is coming …)

Take the time to stop … and snack on the berries 🍓🫐

Three years ago we purchased bare root asparagus plants from (see last pic getting instruction ;)… but the hardest part has been waiting all that time to harvest !!
Needless to say it’s been worth the wait ! Our free range chickens have also been enjoying the fruits of our labour but fortunately they saved some for us …
And beer battered asparagus might just be my new favourite spring snack !

We have one precious pup still looking for her forever home ❤️

She is very sweet and inquisitive & has had her first vet checkup with shots and a dewormer.
