Swan Lake is a peaceful wetland and recreational area, known for birdwatching, camping, and lakeside activities. The lake covers about 412.8 hectares. The surrounding Swan Lake Wildlife Management Area adds another 471.5 hectares of protected marsh and uplands. It’s a shallow lake with marshy shores that offers many migratory birds an ideal place to rest. American White Pelican, Trumpeter Swan, Great Blue Heron frolic on the water and Red-tailed Hawk, Bald Eagle and other birds of prey search the meadows for their next prey.
1.8 km circular trail leads to a lookout tower with two telescopes and a beautiful view over Swan Lake and the surrounding meadow landscape.
