One of the hardest things about grief is the need to talk about the ones we’ve lost and feeling like there’s no one to truly listen. Too often, the responses come in the form of, “It’s time to move forward with your life” or “You need to let go.”

But here’s the truth: I have moved forward. I had no choice. Life pulls us forward whether we’re ready or not. But he comes with me, every step of the way, and he always will.

And yes, I had no choice but to let go of his hand, but that doesn’t mean I’m letting go of him or the best parts of my life. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting—it never has. It means carrying the love, the laughter, and the memories with me as I keep moving.

When I remember him, it’s a comfort. Sometimes, those memories bring tears, and yes, they hurt. But I don’t regret them—not for a second. Those tears mean he mattered. They mean the love we shared was real.

So, I’ll keep remembering, keep carrying him with me, and keep talking about him—whether the world understands or not. Because to love someone so deeply means they remain a part of you, forever.
