I’m not going to lie—I’m frustrated, exhausted, and feeling a little defeated.

Our fundraising efforts have largely fallen on deaf ears. I know times are tough, and I understand that not everyone is in a position to help. But ever since we were forced to start over with a new account on Facebook, we’ve really struggled to reach people and raise the support we need.

At this point, unless something changes, we will be forced to officially close our doors in January.

To make matters worse, our sweet Egg Roll now needs emergency surgery on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the results of the lab work he had done today. He has a mass in his ear that has caused a severe infection, and surgery is his best chance at relief.

After today’s $850 vet bill—which was paid entirely out of my own pocket—and with my second job cutting my hours by 75% (from 30 hours a week down to just 11), I simply can’t keep covering these expenses alone.

We’re hoping to raise at least $500 toward his estimated $2,000 surgery bill. On top of that, I am personally paying for all of the dog food and horse feed for the rescue. It’s been a lot to carry.

I’m tired. Really tired. But I’m not ready to give up on these animals. If you can donate, share, or help in any way, it would mean more than I can put into words.

Took part in a rescue transport today. Drove a Frenchie and his Frencton brother from Vernon, B.C. to Golden, B.C. where we met up with another drive team who was going to continue their journey to Edmonton, Alberta in search of their happily ever after.
Not the greatest weather through Roger's Pass moving towards the Rockies but we stayed below the snowline.
Volunteering to transport dogs is another great way to help out rescues.

Urgent foster needed in the Okanagan.

Update! We are so happy to share that Sophie has found an adoptive home! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Sophie is a lovable 2-3 year old Bulldog mix who desperately needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home.

She must be the only pet in the home and would do best with adults or older, dog-savvy teens. Sophie is low energy, crate trained, affectionate, and happiest when she's curled up beside her person getting belly rubs.

Sophie is currently working on her leash skills with a trainer, and that support will continue to help set her up for success.

Because she can't live with other dogs, finding the right home has been difficult. We know her perfect match is out there, but she needs your help to find them.

Finally finished my I ❤️ dad quilt. Took longer than planned (5 weeks) but I'm happy with the result. I gave it a nice fuzzy, cuddletex backing so some lucky dad will be comfy, cozy snuggling with their fur baby (ies). May be too late to be raffled off for Father's Day this year but the thing about rescue is ... the need for fundraising never goes away.
I won't be making anymore rescue quilts unless asked. They are expensive, take a long time and my smaller rescue groups don't have the means to raffle them. Because of the cost and labour involved I won't let them go for auctions as they don't generate enough money.
For now I'll give my neglected house and gardens some much needed attention and will work on some smaller purses, aprons etc for fundraising.

Away from the studio today.... to organize the spring food drive in our Desert Cove community supporting All Are Family Outreach Society . Really pleased with the donations and the terrific neighbours and volunteers who stepped up to help families and seniors struggling to get by in our area.
