Aug 4, 11:15AM: the Evacuation ORDER for the Bradley Creek fire has expanded for properties in Electoral Area B (Regional District of North Okanagan)

August 1, 2026 11:07 p.m. update:
The Reception Centre at Kal Tire Place remains open to support evacuees requiring in-person assistance.

Due to the high number of evacuees, wait times are significant. Residents are strongly encouraged to stay with family or friends, if possible, rather than waiting at the Reception Centre overnight. Choosing alternate accommodations will help reduce wait times and allow staff to prioritize those with the greatest need.

Unless the situation changes significantly, this will be the final update from the City of Vernon this evening.

🚨 Update for Bradley Creek Wildfire Evacuees

If you have been evacuated and require Emergency Support Services (ESS), please register by phone first if you are able.

📞 BC Evacuee Helpline: 1-800-387-4258
The helpline is open until 9 p.m. tonight to support people affected by wildfires.

People who have been evacuated are encouraged to stay with family or friends tonight if possible.

The Reception Centre will stay open as long as possible this evening to assist evacuees, but it will not remain open overnight. It will reopen in the morning to continue supporting evacuees who need in-person ESS assistance.
