Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing horse mums 💐🐴

The mums who drive to lessons after long days at work, wait patiently on the sidelines, pack the snacks, carry the boots, remember the helmets, and somehow keep it all together with a coffee in hand.

Thank you for the early mornings, muddy cars, endless washing, emotional support, encouragement, and for always showing up.

Horse riding is never just one person’s journey… and behind so many riders is a mum making it happen ❤️

Meet Shaggy Rogers 🦄

Our mini Appaloosa who has very strong opinions about being alone.

Since arriving, quarantine hasn’t gone exactly to plan — he’s made it very clear that isolation is not his favourite concept. So we’ve been carefully adjusting how we manage his transition while still maintaining strict biosecurity protocols across the farm.

Right now, the left side of the farm remains under strict quarantine as we continue to monitor him (no symptoms so far, thankfully). Please do not enter that area without checking in first.

It’s been a real-time reminder that every horse comes with their own needs, and sometimes the “textbook plan” has to be adapted thoughtfully.

We’re looking forward to integrating this sweet little guy into our Helping Hooves Program once he’s fully settled and feeling secure in his new environment.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work through this transition and keep him safe, calm, and supported 💛

A moment for the ba****ck pad 🦄✨

A purchase we’ve had on our minds for quite some time — the Werner Christ Iberica Plus Sheepskin Ba****ck Pad from Harmony Tack Shop.

For a hard-to-fit horse, comfort really comes first, and for the rider it’s honestly like sitting on a warm, fuzzy sofa. 🧸🦄

It’s only been just under two weeks, but we’ve already noticed a visible improvement in his stride and overall body soundness, which has been really encouraging to see.

10/10 would recommend to our fellow draft cross owners — a much more cost-effective option than a custom saddle, and perfect for those rides where the goal is simply to relax and enjoy the ride. 🤍

Firepit Patio Upgrade 🔥

For anyone who’s noticed the front lawn looking a little scorched after a Saturday of property cleanup… we promise there’s a method to the madness 😅

On a 100-year-old farm, land management is a constant project — dead trees, old fencing, and years of accumulated debris all need to be dealt with responsibly.

To keep things more contained (and protect the rest of our lawn), we’ve built a dedicated firepit patio space for controlled, supervised cleanup burns of approved natural materials on appropriate days. A practical upgrade that helps us stay organized while maintaining the property properly.

Still the same farm chaos… just a more intentional setup now 🔥🌲

What’s pretty cool is that once the pit is cleaned out, our gardens end up with a steady supply of wood ash — a great natural amendment when used properly and in moderation. 🌱🔥

Tom said he’s just checking on them… for the 47th time today. 😂🐥
