Tricote-don day 12! Knitting along steadily on my cabled cardigan, button bands on! Collar, pockets, and button selection still remain!

A thorough fix-up for some mitts that maybe shouldn’t have gone through the wash! A redone bind-off, some embroidery touch-ups, securing weak seams, and de-pilling.

We're back! Kinda.

It's been a minute, hasn't it? The last few years threw some curveballs our way here at Knit Verdun. There was a broken ankle, a yarn-shop collaboration gone sideways, some big life changes, the closing of our beloved café Baobab, and of course, the pandemic shutdowns.

We've taken some time to regroup and refocus on the essentials, but there's been a knitting-group-shaped hole in our hearts all this while. That's why it was so exciting when Natasha proposed we relaunch a new knit night at her cozy bar downtown, N sur Mackay.

Natasha's Sip and Knit (see comments for FB event) is shaping up to be a great community spot to gather and craft. In the coming weeks, we'll be putting together a new series of Knit 101 classes, and will resume doing private lessons, repairs, and workshops on demand.

There may be some changes ahead! As much as my heart is in Verdun, we may be looking to rebrand in the near future to better reflect who we are and what we're up to now.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey up to now! I can't wait to see where we're headed next -- hope you can join us to see!

With love and gratitude,
Katie

It’s with extreme sadness that I pass along the news that Baobab is closing for good tomorrow (15 March). They’ve been extremely good to us knitters over the years, and this is a devastating blow to our little Verdun community. With coronavirus, I can’t in good conscience tell you to go out and visit, but know that this weekend is your last chance.

Hi everyone! Knitting groups/lessons are on hiatus at the moment, but know that I'm available for Skype consultations for unsticking knitting problems, and will be putting together a trial run of a virtual knit/craft night in the near future! Stay tuned!

Hi friends! This has been a tricky couple of months for organizing knitting group! Today I'm home with a kid with gastro :( so won't be at Baobab tonight. Stay warm and dry!

Hi everyone! Feeling under the weather and won't make it out to knit night tonight. Hope you stay warm and dry!

Happy thanksgiving, all! Joyeux Action de grâce! Enjoy the cooler weather and come knit this evening at Cafe Baobab, 19h!
