Start of the season with something a little different. 🍄

The Datsun was a car that I wanted since high-school, I said at the time, one day if I had the money and time, I would build one. Some 40+ years later, I bought this roller from a friend that was leaving the country, the car was in boxes. It stayed in the corner of my warehouse for years. Then came Covid, locked down with free time, I spent the time looking for manuals, looked at its design flaws, put a plan in place to remove those flaws and update its electrical, suspension, and drivetrain, while still maintaining its true heritage and analog feel. I kept as much of the original Datsun parts as I could, ( like down to the OEM hose clamps) it would have been easier and cheaper to source current tuner aftermarket parts. But that’s not what i wanted, I wanted that car that my friend let me drive when I was in high school. I tried different wheels, brakes, suspension even re-cored the radiator to keep it original, but at the end after many changes, this is the end result of 5 years of work. The time spent working on this car allowed me to learn to do things and develop new skills. I didn’t do it alone, I had help from close friends that were dear to me. May they rest in peace. I’m forever grateful! Here are just some of the goodies in the car.
