FOR THE RECORD- Summer is NOT over until Sept 21st and we still have a good 3 months of growing season left. Even when plants are losing their leaves, they are rapidly growing robust root systems and forming new buds right up until the ground freezes which usually doesn't happen until December at the earliest!!
You can plant successfully all though fall and Sow grass seed now until Late October (the earlier the better though)!

Never underestimate the power of deadheading/pruning the tops of your perennials this summer. They will come to life again.
