is still very young. And creating community takes time. I'm ok with that. As one of my beloved mentors once told me, slow growth is SUSTAINABLE growth.
So let's go.

Reposted from I am guilty! I changed my voice and colorful clothing selection for the status quo.
The secret? It didn't change a daggone thing. In fact, I grew to hate the job.
Artificial behavior are the actions leaders display that do not reflect who they are.
Let me know when you realized it was time to drop the act in the comment section. I want to hear your stories!

🤝🏼🤝🏼🤝🏼 As an overwhelmed teacher, have you ever just wanted someone to take your hand and SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE?
We get it. We've been there. Our in-school colleagues are amazing people and wanted so badly to help us - but they were overworked too. And some were voluntold to be our mentors and had not received proper training. Quite frankly, not a good system.
And so, behold: our 1-on-1 Coaching service.
We pair experienced educators with teachers who are looking for help with EVERYTHING NEW. New job, new initiatives, new grade, new teaching subject - all of the above!
And why are our coaches different from every other service out there?
✅ they have capacity to coach and CHOOSE to help you - no one is voluntold to be here
✅ they are accessible, and will make time for you
✅ their teaching practices are mindful, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed
✅ they work hard to unpack their biases so that their pedagogy is anti-oppressive
NEED a coach? Send us a DM or email us at [email protected] for more information!
Want to BE a coach! Same thing - send us a DM or email us. Can't wait to hear from you.

Testimonial Love! 😍😍
"Karen did so much to support the creation of my “Holidays around the World” kindergarten readers. Not only did she do the copywriting, but she also tapped into her wide network of community members from so many different cultures to carefully craft each passage. As a team, they made sure each passage would be representative of people’s lived experiences of their holidays.
I’ve learned so much through this process, and it’s really opened my eyes to how much is really missing out there that's needed.
I think if more people would run their resources past someone like Karen, it would be so helpful. I just can’t imagine guessing and assuming that I understood someone else’s culture. The service that Karen provides is so important!
It’s been so nice working with her and I really appreciate all of the time she has put into this project for me."

We got you, Katie. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing your due diligence as a teacher resource creator and homeschool mom. We're on this journey together!

📢📢📢 Are your teaching resources culturally responsive??
Not sure? We're here to do the work so that you don't have to.
We joined the Teacher Resource Creator community this past year (specifically ), and noticed that so.many.resources available to teachers are... well.. culturally inaccurate. Some even straight up problematic. Quite honestly, most people simply don't know what they don't know.
So we decided to offer Curriculum and Cultural Consults for teacher resource creators! Since we've started offering this service, a number of resource creators on TPT have approached us, eager to invest in making their resources culturally responsive, accurate, and trauma-informed. We are SO proud of them for doing their due diligence and wanting to do better.
It's very easy to simply say, "I did my research. It's good enough."
But our students deserve to have their cultures represented in school materials accurately and with honour. It takes time, energy, and YES money investment - but in the end, your product will be that much more valuable to students and educators alike.
Send us a DM or email us at [email protected] for more information. We'd love to do our part in creating a more equitable world where our kids are represented with pride.
Are you with us?

🖤 Fighting for truly mindful, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive pedagogy is lonely work.
But you're not alone. We're here. And we're just getting started.
[ID: black background with powder pink bubble. Black text in the pink that reads, "I started this network because I feel alone so often in this profession. So much is problematic by default, and barriers for true systemic improvements can be overwhelming. Coaches committed to this work are hard to come by. I know I"m not the only one who feels this way, and I'm here to amplify other marginalized voices too." Quote is by Karen Au Haq, Founder & CEO of The EdCoach Network.

Lest We Forget.
We remember all who have fallen
All those who fought for freedom from oppression
Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont
The Métis leaders who stood up for their people’s right to exist
On a land that their people always called home
And was being exploited for a colonial government
Who saw their existence as a nuisance.
We remember all who have fallen
All those who fought against facism
Those who landed on the shores of Juno Beach
Freeing northern France of N**i occupation
May we honour their memory
And continue to fight against White supremacy
So that life can be fair and just for all.
We remember all who have fallen
All those who had no choice but to serve
So that they could find shelter and education
In a system that keeps people poor
Because the war machine keeps the wrong people wealthy
And don’t care whose lives they ruin.
We remember all who have fallen
We honour them by continuing our fight for true justice
We honour them by raising our children well
We honour them by rebuilding a better system
One that works not just for a select few
But one that works for all.
