One of our young Cayuga ducks laid her first egg today!
Cayuga ducks commonly lay charcoal-black or dark gray eggs at the beginning of their laying season. This dramatic color is caused by a thick, pigmented bloom (a natural, protective coating) applied to the shell. As the season progresses, this pigment often lightens to gray. 🦆

April 21st, 2021…The day our lives changed forever. We have been living our best life on our little slice of heaven. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long. I had a 5 year plan… to do all the things. I remember saying “Can you imagine if we had cows and pigs and turkeys one day!”
Well, we did it and then some!
We have come so far. There have been successes, failures, happy times, sad times and everything in between times… and absolute heartbreaking moments. That’s what happens when you live this life but we wouldn’t change anything. That’s how we learn and grow.
We couldn’t have done any of this without the help and support from our family, friends, amazing Customers and Community!
Thank you to all of you! There are not enough words to express how truly blessed we are.

Hello everybody! After running out of our last batch we have restocked our supply of Mini-Ranch born, raised, and processed quail jerky. These are specifically made for our furry friends! Approved by our very own dogs and cats. Dehydrated whole ground quail and quail eggs. ZERO fillers, medications, or preservatives.

So happy to watch things growing on the Mini Ranch! It’s amazing how fast the garden is growing. Peppers, tomatoes, carrots, radish, beans, corn, strawberries, pumpkins, peach tree with fruit growing and a small apple orchard that will give us apples next fall! Hay also put up in the hay loft for winter. Meat chickens finished and Thanksgiving turkeys are growing nicely. We’ve been busy but wouldn’t have it any other way!
