Sunset Beach is not just a poetic name. It strategically faces the setting sun, making it one of the best sunset viewing spots in Vancouver 🌅
This is Sunset Beach in the West End, a wonderful place to watch the sunset and a great beach to visit at any time of day.
Here is what makes it special 👇
🌇 The name:
Sunset Beach genuinely faces the setting sun, with the sky turning gold and orange as it dips below the horizon over English Bay. One of the most beautiful sunset moments in the city.
⛴️ The ferry dock:
Sunset Beach is one of the only beaches in the area with a ferry dock. False Creek Ferries stops right here, giving you an easy way to explore False Creek without a car.
🪶 The history:
Historically, this area was used for fishing and trading by local Indigenous peoples. A place of deep connection to the water long before it became the beach we know today.
🏐 Today:
Sunset Beach is a popular spot for beach volleyball, rollerbladers and dog walkers. Easy, relaxed West End energy.
🤫 The quiet beach designation:
Not as busy as English Bay Beach, Second Beach or Third Beach. Officially designated as a quiet beach. No amplified music permitted except with a permit. Alcohol is not permitted. A calmer alternative if you want to skip the crowds.
🏖️ Amenities:
Concession stand, washrooms and a lifeguard station on site. Lifeguards on duty late May to September.
✅ Perfect for couples watching sunset, photographers, joggers, paddleboarders, newcomers exploring Vancouver, and anyone wanting a quieter beach experience away from the crowds

Two Italian Nonnas brought their family recipes from Italy to Canada. Their children turned those recipes into one of the best Italian restaurants in the Tri-Cities. This is Doppio Zero Pizza in Coquitlam 🍕🇮🇹
The name says it all. Doppio Zero refers to 00 flour — the finest grade Italian flour used in authentic Neapolitan pizza dough. The gold standard of Italian pizza making.
In 2026, Doppio Zero was honoured with a 2-Slices rating from Gambero Rosso — Italy’s most prestigious food and wine guide, the Italian equivalent of Michelin. For a Coquitlam restaurant to hold that distinction is something genuinely special.
The pizzas are served the traditional Neapolitan way — cut with scissors at the table. That charred blistered crust. The pillowy edge. This is the real thing.
Behind every dish is the legacy of Nonna Paola and Nonna Giovanna — born and raised in Italy, who brought their family recipes to Canada. You taste that love and care in every single bite.
💡 Good to know:
Reservations strongly recommended — the restaurant is small and fills up quickly
Free parking on site but the lot can be tight during peak hours
Available for delivery on Skip the Dishes and DoorDash
✅ Perfect for date nights, family dinners, special occasions, Italian food lovers, Coquitlam locals and anyone looking for authentic Neapolitan pizza in the Tri-Cities

The cheapest souvenir shop in Vancouver is hidden inside Harbour Centre — the same building as Vancouver Lookout 🎁
This is Coal Harbour Gifts at Unit 16, 555 West Hastings Street in downtown Vancouver. Most tourists walk right past it. Here is why that is a mistake.
Pay attention to the price tags because some of the items you see start at less than $1.
What to buy 👇
The classics are all there — magnets, pins and keychains at some of the best prices in the city.
But here is what I actually recommend:
🍁 Maple syrup items — maple syrup tea and maple syrup lollipops. Uniquely Canadian, delicious and a much more interesting souvenir to bring home
🏷️ Custom name zipper tags — find your own name right in the shop. Such a cute and personal touch, especially as a gift for kids

There is a hidden Japanese curry stall on the second floor of H Mart on Robson Street and most people have no idea it is there 🍛
This is Zac Zac Japanese Curry, tucked in the back corner of the H Mart food court at 590 Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. It has been here since 2012 and it is still one of the most underrated lunch spots in the city.
Here is what to order 👇
The $20 Deluxe Curry Set:
Panko breaded prawn, pork and potato, all perfectly crispy on the outside. Placed on a generous bed of rice covered in rich Japanese curry sauce. Extra cheese melted on top
Miso soup included. Drink included. For $20 in downtown Vancouver. That value is genuinely hard to beat.
About the curry:
Japanese curry is one of the most beloved dishes in Japan, considered a national dish enjoyed by all. The flavour at Zac Zac hits in three layers, sweet first, then deep umami savouriness, then a gentle spice. Choose mild or regular spice level. Everything is made fresh to order.
💡 Tips before you go:
Go upstairs to the second floor of H Mart, not the grocery floor. Zac Zac is tucked in the back corner of the food court. Order at the counter and pick up when your name is called
Cash and card accepted
Also available on Uber Eats

Does this pink alley in Vancouver look familiar? 🩷 If you are a K-pop fan, it should.
This is Pink Alley, also officially known as Alley-Oop, located in downtown Vancouver between Seymour and Granville, just south of West Hastings Street.
It gained international fame as one of the filming locations for TWICE’s Likey music video, one of the most iconic MVs in K-pop history. K-pop fans from around the world visit Vancouver specifically to stand right here. And honestly, the alley is so bold and beautiful that it earns every visit.
Here is the story behind it 👇
Pink Alley was created in 2016 as part of a $200,000 collaboration between the City of Vancouver and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association. What used to be a dark, drab, completely forgotten alleyway in downtown Vancouver was transformed into a vibrant public space. Bold pink and yellow paint, basketball hoops, art installations, and string lights throughout.
The intention was simple. To enhance people’s moods and turn an underutilized urban space into somewhere people actually want to be.
It worked. Pink Alley went on to win a public space award for its innovative transformation. It has appeared in countless social media posts, travel blogs and photography projects. And it is now one of the hottest Instagram locations in all of Vancouver.
💡 Tips before you visit:
Daytime visits give you the most vibrant colours for photos
Early weekday mornings are the least crowded
It is an active alleyway so be mindful of vehicles
3 minute walk from Waterfront SkyTrain Station
Completely free and open anytime
✅ Perfect for K-pop fans, photographers, Instagram content creators, tourists visiting Vancouver, couples, and anyone looking for the most colourful and unique photo spot in downtown Vancouver
