Our CEO, David Park, recently delivered powerful remarks on why domestic lithium production is both a clean-energy opportunity and a national-security imperative.
The United States currently produces just 1% of global lithium while China controls the majority of processing. At the same time, America has world-class lithium resources right here in the Smackover Formation of southwest Arkansas and East Texas.
Standard Lithium is unlocking those resources with Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) - the same kind of transformative technology that fracking brought to oil and gas. Our flagship Southwest Arkansas Project will be North America’s first commercial DLE operation, producing 22,500 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year - roughly 5× current U.S. output.
With permitting complete, major offtake secured, and the project continuing to advance towards construction, we’re moving quickly to help deliver American Energy Dominance.
We also support extending the 45X tax credit and strengthening domestic content requirements so that U.S.-produced lithium stays in the United States to power our data centers, defense systems, and next-generation technologies.
Proud to be part of the solution.

Last week at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence GIGA US 2026 in Washington, D.C., Standard Lithium CEO, David Park joined the Lithium Supercycle Panel: Aligning Global Extraction with Western Manufacturing Ambition. The conversation was centered on how the United States can accelerate lithium projects from resource development to battery-grade chemicals by aligning technology, capital and collaboration.
At Standard Lithium, we are proud to be part of that work, advancing responsible lithium extraction and development in Southwest Arkansas and East Texas to support American energy security.

Today marks an important milestone for Standard Lithium and the South West Arkansas Project. We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process with a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) from the U.S. Department of Energy. The completion of the NEPA review reflects the extensive environmental and community engagement work completed by our team and partners throughout project development and represents a major step forward in advancing a domestic lithium supply chain critical to U.S. energy security, manufacturing, and economic growth.
As we continue progressing toward a final investment decision and construction, we remain focused on responsibly developing one of North America’s most significant lithium resources while creating long-term opportunities for the state of Arkansas and strengthening America’s critical minerals independence.
Thank you to our employees, partners, advisors, local stakeholders, and government agencies who have supported this process and helped move the project forward.
