To all the fathers and non birthing partners in our community, we are holding you close in our hearts this Father's Day 💙 We know this day can bring a mix of emotions and may feel especially tender for many.
Today, we want to honour and recognize:
✨ Fathers who have experienced the loss of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant loss.
✨ Fathers who have stood beside their partners through recurrent pregnancy loss, grief, and heartbreak.
✨ Fathers navigating infertility, IVF, and fertility treatments, carrying hopes, disappointments, and dreams along the way.
✨ Fathers who have held their babies born still and carry their love every day.
✨ Those who are waiting, longing, hoping, and praying for a child.
Your fatherhood matters. Your love matters. Your journey matters. We see you. We honour you. We remember your babies, your hopes, your losses, and your unwavering love.
As Father's Day arrives, we are wishing you gentleness, compassion, and moments of peace. May you feel surrounded by love today and know that you are not alone.
Happy Father's Day to all fathers, in every form that your fatherhood takes. ❤️🦋

Today Kimberly Lockhart, on behalf of Butterfly Support network presented to the BC select standing committee on finance and government services, for the provincial budget 2027 consultation.
Butterfly Support network is making recommendations to the BC government around development and implementation of a Provincial bereavement care strategy, supporting individuals and families navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, TFMR, stillbirth and infant loss. Additionally we are calling on the provincial government to fund essential mental health programs and resources - such as professional counselling, support groups and peer support for those facing loss and infertility.
We know that our government investing in strengthening community based care, and the development of a provincial bereavement strategy will have a significant return and impact for individuals across our province. You can also submit your own recommendations on the BC legislative website today until 2pm PST for consideration.
If this is something that matters to you, we encourage you to reach out to your local MLA and share your own stories and experiences of perinatal loss, reproductive trauma, infertility& reproductive fertility treatments. Our government needs to hear from our community, and has an opportunity to embed bereavement care into our health care systems, and improve care for the thousands of families impacted by infertility and loss each year in BC.
