On your marks! πβοΈ In less than an hour, race 1 for one of the largest races in North America this year kicks off in Olympic Village and False Creek. Welcome to the Vessi 500 Championship, teams! Make sure you come down today to cheer on over 130 teams hitting the water today, and enjoy all the free activities happening on land.
Heats run from 8-10:45 AM, semi finals from 11 AM-2 PM, and finals from 2:30 onwards. All races are 500M running from near Cambie Street Bridge towards the Concord Pacific Presentation Centre. Live results and marshalling is available online at vessi2026.pages.dev!

SATURDAY MAY 30 TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Please note the following road closures, bike lane adjustments, and temporary no parking zones in place tomorrow for the Vessi 500 Championship. As part of adjustments beginning in 2025 due to the seawall closure, all events in Olympic Village will follow the same footprint moving forward. The closures and detours will be supported by VPD officers on site through the day.
π No Parking Zones: Athletes Way from Ontario Street to Salt Street; West side Ontario Street between Athletes Way and Walter Hardwick Avenue; East side Manitoba between Athletes Way and Walter Hardwick Avenue
π Street Closures: One way going westbound only between Ontario Street and Salt Street, full closure of Athletes Way between Salt Street and Manitoba Street
π²οΈ Bike Lane Reroute: bike lane reroute from seawall to Athletes Way
π² Racer Drop Off: Athletes Way on south side, opposite of Creekside Community Centre (strict 2 minute drop off only)

ΏοΈ Parking: Under Urban Fare, and London Drugs. We also encourage racers and visitors to use the surface parking lot available off of Switchmen Street/Pullman Porter Street.

Our biggest Vessi 500 Championship hits Olympic Village this Saturday, and we're grateful for your support especially through this season like no other. As we get set to host our last event in Vancouver, before we take a break as the city hosts the world, we've lined up plenty of activities both on and off the water for everyone to enjoy! βοΈ
Watch the races, and enjoy live music, crafts, performances, and activities for free in Milton Wong Square. Or, grab a bite to eat with food trucks from Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival, and shop local with local craft artisans from Got Craft Markets!
