Dear members,

BCMCL has a zero-tolerance policy for any violations of conduct, abusive behavior, threats, intimidation, verbal altercations, or disputes with other park users, city staff, officials, referees, spectators, or members of the public.
Field Permit Compliance
Please ensure that fields are used only during the permit times assigned to BCMCL. Teams must not enter or occupy a field before their permitted time and must vacate the field promptly when their scheduled time has ended.

Current permit hours include:

Sperling Sports Fields: 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Saturdays)
Crescent Park: 12:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Rest of the field 1200-1900 (except Stanley Park, Newton Athletic, Delview, Westerman, Enver Creek 09:00 A)
All clubs and teams are responsible for ensuring that their scheduled matches fall within these permitted timeframes.

If Another User Claims They Have a Permit
If another group or user approaches your team and advises that they have a valid permit for the field:

Remain respectful and professional at all times.
Do not argue, raise voices, or engage in any confrontation.
Contact the BCMCL Scheduling Team immediately at 604-765-7708 to verify the permit schedule.
In the event of a scheduling error or misunderstanding, BCMCL will work with the parties involved to resolve the matter appropriately.
Facility Usage Expectations
All teams and members must:

Treat all park users, officials, and city staff with courtesy and respect.
Keep fields, dugouts, spectator areas, and surrounding spaces clean.
Dispose of all garbage in designated receptacles.
Use only the appropriate washrooms and park facilities provided.
Respect all city property and park infrastructure.
Follow directions provided by city staff, parks personnel, and facility operators.
Code of Conduct
All BCMCL members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the league and the sport of cricket. Any conduct that violates city regulations, BCMCL policies, or permit conditions may result in disciplinary action against individuals, teams, or clubs.

The cooperation of all clubs and members is essential to maintaining our positive relationship with municipal partners and ensuring continued access to cricket facilities throughout the region.

Thank you for your immediate attention and cooperation."

All teams are requested to:

Pay close attention to any rescheduled fixtures.

Arrive at grounds on time and be prepared for all scheduled matches.

The cooperation of all clubs and players is appreciated as we work together to complete the season successfully.

Weekday T20 First division Update

Dear Members,
As you are aware, we are still unable to resume First DIvision Weekday T20 cricket due to permit issues.
We have received a couple of additional days on the carpet wickets, and we will try to resume the Weekday T20 competition starting next week. The City has also granted us one Thursday permit on the turf wicket, and Stallian CC are going to release Friday Permits for us and we will do our best to adjust the schedule by playing some games on turf and some at Newton Athletic Park to ensure we complete this event.
It is unfortunate when the sport we all love becomes a source of stress and extra headaches because of the actions of people who have never contributed to serving this cricket community.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We remain committed to providing as many playing opportunities as possible for our members and will continue working hard to secure the grounds needed for our leagues. We will update the schdule for upconing week.

NOTICE REGARDING RULE 10 ENFORCEMENT

BCMCL has become aware that certain players registered with BCMCL participated in an event organized outside of BCMCL on June 1, 2026.

As participation in that event constitutes a contravention of Rule 10 of the BCMCL Governing Rules, the affected players have been suspended for two games and will not be eligible to participate in BCMCL regular season matches, any BCMCL club activities, or other BCMCL events during their suspension period.

This remains an evolving matter. BCMCL's review of potential Rule 10 violations is ongoing. Should additional violations be identified, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the Governing Rules.

Players who have been suspended will be eligible to return to BCMCL activities after serving their suspension, provided there are no further violations of Rule 10.

BCMCL is also providing affected players with an opportunity to submit information or evidence should they believe the suspension has been issued in error.

All clubs are requested to remind their players of the requirements and consequences associated with Rule 10.

BCMCL will continue to enforce Rule 10 in order to protect the integrity, fairness, scheduling, field allocations, and orderly administration of the BCMCL regular season and BCMCL events.

Important BCMCL Weekday T20 Update

Please note that the BCMCL Weekday T20 first division competition has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts and field permit issues. Permits and facilities that have historically been used for BCMCL events were allocated to another league, directly impacting our ability to continue the competition as originally scheduled. ( 2nd division will continue with no impact )

We understand the frustration this has caused for players, clubs, umpires, and volunteers. BCMCL is actively working on solutions and will provide further updates as soon as they become available.

Rule 10 Reminder

Please ensure that all your players are aware of the consequences of breaching Rule 10.

As BCMCL is no longer affiliated with the West Coast Cricket Organization (Cricket BC), any player who participates in a Cricket BC-organized league or competition while registered with BCMCL will be considered in breach of Rule 10.

The penalties are as follows:

β€’ First Offence: Suspension for two (2) BCMCL matches.
β€’ Second Offence: Forfeiture of the player’s BCMCL registration.

These rules were established and approved by BCMCL member clubs, and league management is obligated to enforce them fairly and consistently.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and continued support of BCMCL and community cricket
