There’s a special voice recording in this song after the bridge that brings me to tears every time I hear it 🥹

It’s an old voice recording of my great grandparents, one of which the name Taletta came from: my great grandma Alma Taletta. I never knew my sweet great grandma Alma but I know that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 47 and was hospitalized for 12 years of her life until she passed away.

During those 12 years in the hospital, my great grandpa would visit her & record the two of them discussing life together. These recordings are the most precious picture of how well they loved not only each other, but the people around them. Their softheartedness towards people and life remained steadfast even through the most trying circumstances — and that’s how they are remembered. That’s how I have come to know them. I know it couldn’t have been easy living the life that my grandma Alma lived but she did it as graciously as she could with the time that she had. She is someone that I really wish I could have met, but I’m grateful to have stories of her, as well as these recordings to hear her tender voice.

How beautiful it is to be remembered for how you loved others well even in the midst of your own pain and suffering. There is so much pain, yet still so much to hold that’s good 🤍
