Can emergency responders easily find your property?

Check that your green municipal address sign or house number is clearly visible from the road.

Trim branches, shrubs, and tall grass around the sign so it can be seen day or night.

Clear address signage helps fire crews, paramedics, and other responders reach you quickly when minutes matter.

If your sign is damaged, please contact our Planning & Development Department for a replacement at 780.524.7639.

Not all plants behave the same way during wildfire.

Trees and shrubs that grow too close to buildings can allow fire to spread more easily.

Helpful steps include:
• trimming branches away from roofs and walls
• spacing trees where possible
• removing ladder fuels such as low branches and dense shrubs

The goal is not to remove all vegetation. It is managing it, so it does not increase wildfire risk.

Alberta saw record snowfall this winter, but wildfire danger is already high to extreme across many areas.

Why?

During early spring, dead grass and vegetation are at their driest point before new green growth begins. Combined with warm temperatures, low humidity, and wind, these conditions can allow fires to spread quickly.

Even a small spark can start a fast-moving grass fire.

Please use caution with:
• Open burning
• Off-road vehicles
• Equipment that creates sparks
• Smoking materials

Today, we’re celebrating all the amazing moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, and mother figures in our communities.

From the moms who keep things running at home, to the ones responding to emergencies, volunteering in our stations, supporting firefighters behind the scenes, and raising the next generation — thank you for everything you do.

Emergency services often means missed dinners, late nights, weekends away, and unpredictable calls. The support, patience, and strength shown by families — especially moms — never goes unnoticed.

On behalf of Greenview Fire-Rescue, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and well-deserved Mother’s Day. ❤️🚒

Most homes lost during wildfires ignite from embers, not flames.

Embers can travel long distances and land in places where debris collects.

Protect your home by:
• cleaning gutters
• clearing roof valleys
• removing leaves and needles
• making sure vents have proper screening

These small maintenance tasks help prevent embers from starting fires on your home.
