Really enjoying this summer on the ranch 🌾☀️ From time in the garden and meeting wonderful guests in our BnB, to fun with our horses and welcoming new animals… everything feels even more special now that we get to share it all with our little Ari. 💛👶🌻

Thank to everyone sending us messages checking in to make sure we are okay. We have not posted for a while but wanted to let everyone know we are doing good.
Our beautiful town Valemount is open, and so are our guest cabins. Although some highway closures are making it harder to get here, Valemount sure is worth the journey.
Beautiful mountain views, amazing hikes and lots of fun activities. Our town could use your support, and we would love to have you stay with us.

Respect, focus, trust and willingness from horses are earned by the integrity of our actions. 🙏 Having such a good season training horses💪👏.

After years of training horses this way it’s always amazing to be reminded how much of a change these simple but tricky truths can make between horses and riders. I’m looking forward to teaching again and seeing the lessons click between horses and students! It’s so rewarding🙏👏

Some very important reminders!🙏.

It is so important to be present when you are with your horse, not only when you are riding them but every moment you are around them. You always need to be aware of your own body language, your horse and the environment. To have a true connection you need to respond to everything on the correct spot, with the correct amount of pressure in the correct timing. When your horse sees you do this consistently, your horse is going to want to be with you💜🐴🙏.

The lessons I learned from being with horses have never been more useful then in the past week. As I was dealing with a huge and unexpected loss in my family my emotions and the feeling of grief where very hard to handle. A few years ago I would have not being able to process and deal with all these feelings in a healthy way, but the lessons from the work with horses has made me stronger and able to get through this hard time. I have always been so committed to share training updates almost daily so that people can learn from this and of course to spread the Irwin Insights as my true passion is to make the world better for horses and I believe this way of training and handling horses is the way to do that. But I needed some time, time away from social media to be with family, time with horses without my phone and time in nature without anything on my mind. But im back, because I know my dad would have wanted me to keep going, he was so supportive of me reaching my goals. And he would have wanted me to do what im so passionate about, he always taught me that if you want something you work hard to get it and you let nothing stop you. So make sure you check my stories with daily training updates and my page for regular post and videos with training tips, ranch life and Irwin Insights💪

It is so important to have awareness of the messages you put out with your body language.

Your horse is always reading you and responding to what your body is saying. Mixed messages between what you think you are asking and what your body is saying can cause stress, frustration and anger in your horse.

Learning to have ultimate awareness and being conscious is key for highly effective communication.
