Off to the Woodland cultural Centre in Brantford. I’ve decided to showcase her❤️ She’s definitely one of my favorite paintings.
I’ve never thought I would say this but I miss working on Canvas! The last 8 weeks have been all about murals. I’m ready to paint again in my studio!
Good thing I have received a Grant from Canada Council of Arts ( thank you - Wliwni). 7 round paintings of birds coming to a gallery near you!
Message me if you’d like to display them in your gallery in 2027!

Had a fantastic week at Holy Cross!
The energy was incredible, the students were amazing, and every day was filled with creativity, laughter, and meaningful conversations. After weeks of schools, workshops, events, and murals, it was one of those weeks that reminded me exactly why I love what I do.
Today marks the first day in 8 weeks that I’m back at home working on a mural. No rushing to a school, no event schedules, no packing supplies into the truck before sunrise. Just me, a mural, some podcasts, and a full day to paint.
I was honestly looking forward to it.
I thought, “Perfect. A quiet day. I’ll drink my coffee, listen to a few podcasts, and paint at my own pace.”
Well… that lasted about an hour.
After spending the last 8 weeks surrounded by students, teachers, organizers, and community members, I’ve apparently forgotten how to be alone. The silence was nice for about 60 minutes. Now it’s feeling a little too quiet.
The challenge is that I live off-grid, so it’s not like people are casually walking past my studio window. My best chance for social interaction today is a goose wandering past the sunroom or a few ducks stopping by to judge my progress.
To be fair, geese are pretty vocal. They usually have a lot to say, whether you ask for their opinion or not. And ducks seem like good listeners.
At this point, if a goose waddles up to the window and starts honking, I’ll probably answer back and ask how its morning is going.
Funny how quickly we get used to being around people.
Here’s to a fantastic week at Holy Cross, a productive day of painting, and hopefully a visit from my feathered coworkers. They’re loud, opinionated, and terrible at staying inside the lines—but at least they’re company.

🏆 Celebrate Indigenous Excellence Deadline: June 8, 2026

This mural weaves together the teachings of Sky Woman, Turtle Island, the 13 Moons, and the ongoing relationship between balance and chaos within the natural world — and within our everyday lives (especially the kind of chaos that shows up when children enter the room like tiny, joyful storms).
At the centre is Sky Woman, holding the energy of creation, life, and the deep connection between Indigenous peoples and Mother Earth. She is surrounded by the 13 Moons, which represent the cycles of time, women’s teachings, and the steady rhythm of nature that continues even when our own rhythms feel off.
Below her rests the great turtle, carrying Turtle Island on its back — the land we now call North America. The turtle carries teachings of truth, wisdom, patience, and stability, reminding us that moving slowly is still moving forward, and that grounding ourselves is a form of strength.
Surrounding the turtle is water in motion — swirling, shifting, and unpredictable. This water reflects emotions, challenges, and the constant flow of life. It speaks to those moments when everything feels like it’s moving at once, and we are simply trying to stay steady within it.
Life itself, like the water, is not always calm. It carries joy, overwhelm, laughter, and chaos — especially when little ones are involved. Children bring a beautiful kind of wild energy into the world: loud, curious, unfiltered, and full of life.
This week marks my fourth mural in a single month. I feel a little zoned out and a little imbalanced, and I can see that energy quietly reflected in this painting. There is honesty in that — a reminder that the artist’s state of being often lives inside the work itself.
And yet, even in that feeling, there is love. I absolutely love chaos and the little ones who bring it. My heart is full.
Through it all, the turtle remains steady — reminding us that balance is not about perfection or control. It is about moving gently through the swirl, staying grounded in teachings, and continuing forward with care, even when we are tired, full, and beautifully human.
