🧴 + 🧼 = 🫶🏻
Hey folks, we are looking for help from you lovely people again on some issues that our friends from need a hand with! ❤️
Some of our vulnerable community members need our help and so we've partnered with and for a personal hygiene donation drive for Thrive.
We're looking for body wash, shampoo, conditioner and/or deodorant to help stock Thrive's supply cupboard for folks this summer. If you're able, we'll be accepting donations throughout the month of June at the pub. Each donation will receive an entry to win a prize pack generously donated by our friends at Quidi Vidi, Collingwood's, and we're throwing in a gift card as well. 👏
Its never been a problem getting some donations through our doors because you are all so good to us & the community, but a couple little prizes from the crews at QV & Collingwoods wouldn't be too shabby 😉
We'll be accepting donations for the rest of the month. If you don't mind, give this post a share to help spread the word. Thank you very much. Cheers 🍻

An RMT in British Columbia recently created a new federal petition to gather further support for HST/GST exemption for massage therapy in Canada.
This petition is sponsored by MP Brad Vis, who has previously championed similar exemption petitions directed towards the previous federal government.
A related petition, recently presented in the House of Commons by Newfoundland MP Jonathan Rowe, has already mandated a government response. Every new petition presented with maximum signatures further amplifies our collective voice and compels the government to act on this crucial issue.
We strongly encourage all RMTs, massage therapy students, and members of the public to sign this petition before it expires on December 25, 2025: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6753

“Health is an ecosystem, not a simple symptom.”

Complexity science is reshaping how we understand musculoskeletal health. Instead of treating pain, stiffness, poor sleep, or reduced activity as separate issues, imagine them as interconnected nodes in a network. Each one influences the others.
A shift toward Whole-Person Health recognizes that well-being isn’t just what’s happening in the body—it’s shaped by our environment, social context, habits, and lived experiences. Health is an ecosystem, not a single symptom.

Ever Wondered How X-Ray, CT, & MRI Work? Check out the Banana Analogy! 🤩
Did you know a simple banana can help explain complex medical scans? This popular picture cleverly shows the difference between X-ray, CT scan, and MRI!
* X-Ray: Think of it like a simple snapshot! It only shows the outside shape—like how X-rays are best for seeing dense things, especially bones. It gives a basic outline.
* CT Scan: This is a step up. It shows a cross-section or a "slice" of the banana. This is like how a CT scan gives a layered view, helping doctors see more details inside, such as slight tissue changes.
* MRI: This is the most detailed look! It shows the banana's tiny internal strands and textures, giving the most intricate view. This is why MRI is the best for seeing soft tissues, like muscles, organs, and the brain.
This fun comparison doesn't show real medical images, but it perfectly explains how each scan gives a different level of detail. It makes understanding radiology so much easier!
