Colchester CARMA (formerly Wayward Cats), was founded with the goal of aiding the expanding cat population in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. Through the use of a trap, neuter & return project, we are attempting to limit the ever growing cat population. Our group is focused on aiding feral colonies and those who have been feeding strays. Unowned cats, or abandoned cats, are given the ability to re

Sweet little Ponyo is hanging out at Petsmart in Bedford. We thought this little man would have been snatched up in no time! But... Instead of showcasing how handsome and sweet he is, he has chosen to hide 🐱
Ponyo just turned 1 and his preference is to have all the attention to himself, so he doesn't want any siblings of the feline variety, but he may enjoy the company of a relaxed canine friend.
If you're looking for unconditional love, Ponyo's your fella!

🐾 Bubbles Update: She's Coming Home! 🐾
First, we would like to thank the team at Truro Veterinary Hospital for the incredible care they have provided to Bubbles during her hospitalization. We would also like to thank them for allowing us to share this video of Bubbles with one of their staff, Aiden, who has been helping care for her throughout her stay.
Today, we are thrilled to share that Bubbles is being discharged and coming home! ❤️
After being diagnosed with panleukopenia and spending several days receiving intensive veterinary care, Bubbles has continued to improve. She is eating on her own, her diarrhea has started to resolve, and she has shown everyone just how strong and determined she is.
She still has some recovery ahead of her, and we will continue to monitor her closely, but this is a huge milestone and one worth celebrating.
We also want to thank everyone who donated, shared our posts, and cheered Bubbles on from afar. Together, we raised $1,460 toward her veterinary expenses. Your support allowed us to give her every chance possible, and we are incredibly grateful.
There were moments when things felt uncertain, but Bubbles never gave up. Thanks to the dedication of the veterinary team and the support of this amazing community, she is getting the chance to continue her recovery in a foster home.
Thank you all for believing in this tiny fighter. 🖤🐾

🐾 Bubbles Update 🐾
UPDATE: we have now raised $1,470!
First, we want to thank everyone who donated, shared our post, and sent positive thoughts for Bubbles. Thanks to your incredible support, we have raised $1,320 toward her veterinary bill.
We received some encouraging news this morning. Bubbles is heading in the right direction for recovery! Her diarrhea is improving, she is stable, and she is now eating on her own. This morning she ravenously ate 1/4 of a can of kitten food, which is a huge step in the right direction. She has also been bright, alert, and feisty today—exactly the kind of spirit we love to see.
While this is wonderful progress, Bubbles is not out of the woods yet. Due to the severe diarrhea and straining caused by panleukopenia, she has developed a mild re**al prolapse. The veterinary team is currently lubricating and closely monitoring the area.
We are hopeful that as her diarrhea continues to resolve, the prolapse will also improve without further intervention.
Bubbles continues to show us just how strong she is, and we are so grateful to everyone helping us give her a fighting chance. Please keep her in your thoughts as she continues her recovery journey.
❤️ Thank you for standing behind this tiny warrior. Every donation, share, and kind word has helped us continue her fight.

🖤 A Tiny Fighter Needs Your Help 🖤
This little girl came into our care sick, weighing in only at 435g at 8 weeks of age, and fighting off some diarrhea.
Shortly after intake, she was diagnosed with Panleukopenia, a devastating and often deadly virus that affects kittens.
She was immediately hospitalized and has now spent two days receiving intensive veterinary care.
Despite everything she's been through, she continues to fight.
She is receiving around-the-clock treatment, medications, fluids, and supportive care from our veterinary team.
Every day she keeps fighting gives her another chance at the life she deserves.
Unfortunately, that fight comes at a cost. Her veterinary bill has already reached $1,500 and continues to climb as she remains hospitalized.
We know the odds can be difficult with panleukopenia, but we are not ready to give up on her. She is showing us every day that she hasn't given up on herself.
If you are able to help, any donation—large or small—will go directly toward her ongoing medical care. If donating isn't possible, sharing this post can make an enormous difference.
Thank you for helping us give this little warrior every chance possible. ❤️

Please keep this tiny fighter in your thoughts as she continues her battle.

Apologies for the short notice! Come join us! This will probably be our last meeting until September.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT FROM OUR RESCUE, BUT IT IS 💯 TRUE! "FREE" KITTENS ARE NOT FREE! They need veterinary care and altering, which cost a lot more than our $300 adoption donation!
This is one of the reasons why we seem to be trapping a lot of friendly cats, who are now in our adoption program. Cats are NOT disposable! 😿
