Something that we unfortunately see all the time on projects is improper flashing.

When this house was built in the early 2000's there wasn't any type of flashing installed behind the chimney box at the roof. Inevitably the water found its way in and rotted the roof, walls, and chimney box.

These Clients called us in to inspect and repair any rot damage we could find. We ended up replacing a portion of the roof framing, the exterior wall, and the entire chimney box due to the rot from water intrusion!

These Clients won't have to worry about water intrusion for a long time now.
