Kinvia
Canadian Feed The Children is now Kinvia. Inspired by the voices of communities & powered by you. Join us on the path we share.
June is National Indigenous History Month — a time to recognize and honour the histories, cultures, knowledge, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.
Since 1992, Kinvia has partnered with Indigenous Peoples, supporting community-led programming. Today, we work alongside 19 Indigenous communities across the country — supporting long-term food security and community-led projects rooted in local knowledge, priorities, and vision.
Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing stories and hearing voices from Indigenous communities across our channels — celebrating leadership, connection to land, and culture. 🌿

In Ethiopia, girls are learning about sexual and reproductive health and rights, while supporting one another in navigating harmful practices and everyday challenges.
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights clubs offers one-on-one counselling to students and is also leading income-generating initiatives, helping self-fund sanitary pads for students who need them.
📚For students like Danse, the impact goes beyond the classroom:
“We have a discussion session among the club members twice a month which helped me to … understand and protect myself from different harmful practices.”

Communities across Bolivia are facing uncertainty and hardship as protests continue to affect daily life. Children, youth, and families are carrying the weight of disruption, concern, and instability, including growing impacts on food security and access to essential resources.
We are holding close in our thoughts Kinvia staff members, long-standing community partners, community leaders, caregivers, and children and families who continue to support one another through these difficult days with strength, care, and resilience.
We stand alongside the people of Bolivia with hope for peace, safety, and healing.

We are excited to share that Kinvia has been named a Grand Prize Winner of the Government of Canada’s Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Challenge. 🏅
This recognition supports the continuation and expansion of our partnership with Indigenous Peoples, leading innovative, community-driven solutions to food insecurity and Type 2 Diabetes prevention.
Together with Kinvia’s partners in Indigenous communities, including leaders, educators, Elders, knowledge-keepers, youth, and families, 365-day greenhouses are helping increase access to fresh produce while creating spaces for learning, connection, and long-term wellness.
We are grateful for the trust of the Indigenous Peoples we have the honour of walking alongside in this partnership and are thankful to the Public Health Agency of Canada (Healthy Canadians) and Impact Canada for supporting this important work.
