A charger is only part of the project. ⚡

For Ontario projects, ESA permitting, utility service limits, and project economics can determine whether a Level 2 or DC fast charger is feasible before installation begins. A quick electrical review can flag load capacity, panel upgrades, and networking needs for homes, workplaces, and fleet sites.

$11.7 million is backing 15 EV charging projects across Canada — with direct implications for Ontario site hosts and fleets.

For Ontario: IESO planning, ESA permitting, and OHSA-compliant installation can shape project cost and schedule. Aligning those steps early helps reduce delays for fleets, airports, and charging operators.

New CRA guidance could give eligible businesses earlier certainty on SR&ED claims before filing. For Ontario projects, that can help with budgeting, documentation, and timing from the start. It’s especially useful when project plans must also fit Ontario requirements like ESA, OHSA, or OEB rules, where compliance can affect cost and schedule. 📌

CRA’s updated Clean Electricity ITC guidance gives battery, solar, and transmission projects a clearer federal starting point. ⚡

For Ontario projects, the real test still includes IESO economics, ESA and OEB requirements, and OHSA compliance before assumptions are locked in. Cleaner tax guidance can help teams screen eligibility earlier and reduce rework.

Thinking about clean electricity projects and wondering what’s new in Canada? ⚡

There’s a new federal program update to be aware of: the Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit (ITC).

In April 2026, the Canada Revenue Agency published program pages for this credit following enactment. The update confirms a 15% refundable tax credit for eligible clean electricity property acquired on or after December 16, 2024.

The main takeaway: CRA guidance is now available, which helps clarify that the Clean Electricity ITC is in place and outlines how the credit is claimed.

As always, it’s a good idea to review the official CRA page to understand what the program covers and whether a property may be eligible. ✅

Power factor can affect your electricity costs even when your kWh use stays the same. For Ontario projects, it’s worth reviewing early because utility charges, equipment sizing, and overall project economics can shift before you buy or upgrade equipment. A quick check at the planning stage can help avoid surprises later. ⚡

Thinking about adding solar panels or a battery system to your home in BC? ☀️🔋 Here’s an update worth noting.

BC Hydro says that starting June 1, 2026, solar and battery installations must be completed by a Home Performance Contractor Network member to qualify for the rebate.

In other words, if you’re planning a project and want to keep it rebate-eligible, make sure your installer is part of that network.

If solar or battery upgrades are on your future to-do list, this is a good reminder to check contractor requirements early in the planning process.

As always, it’s a good idea to review the latest program details directly with BC Hydro before making any rebate-related decisions.

Ontario retrofit incentives can change solar PV sizing fast.

For Ontario projects, behind-the-meter solar still has to fit the site load profile and align with IESO rules and ESA requirements. That can affect array size, project economics, and whether a system is viable at all. Ontario impact: solar planning should start with local compliance and load analysis, not a generic design.

Royal Assent is now in place for Canada’s Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit — but Ontario projects still hinge on fit, not headlines.

For Ontario: IESO market signals, ESA permitting, and project economics will determine which clean power and storage projects can actually move ahead. Early diligence on eligibility, timelines, and compliance can help avoid costly delays.

Missed commissioning checks can surface after a project is already “done.”

In Ontario, that can mean slower turnover, delayed energization, and added cost if ESA requirements or project closeout steps aren’t fully met. Electrical commissioning and re-commissioning help confirm pre-functional checks, FAT/SAT, switchgear energization, relay testing, and turnover documents before handoff. ✅
