What does it mean to keep heritage alive? 💙💛

Sometimes it is wearing a vyshyvanka. Sometimes it is hearing the familiar sound of Ukrainian music. Sometimes it is sitting together around a table, sharing stories and remembering traditions that have travelled with us across generations and across oceans.

At St. Demetrius, Ukrainian heritage isn’t something we simply celebrate once a year. It is part of the community we have built together.

Our Ukrainian Heritage Day brought residents, staff, families, and volunteers together through music, traditional clothing, Ukrainian culture and, most importantly, time spent with one another.

During Ukrainian Heritage Month, we celebrate not only where we come from, but the people who continue to keep those traditions alive here in Canada.
Because heritage lives when it is remembered, shared and passed on.

Щиро дякуємо всім, хто був разом з нами! 💙💛

Разом ми зберігаємо нашу українську спадщину та передаємо її наступним поколінням. 🇺🇦🇨🇦

Great food, great energy, and lots of Ukrainian heart in our Taste of Home food tent.

Come find us at the Bloor West Ukrainian Festival and enjoy a little taste of home with us. We can’t wait to see you!

Close to 11pm. The sun has long gone, but the lineup is still going strong. We are busy sharing a taste of home — and love seeing people from every background gather around our tent, enjoy our food, and feel right at home. ❤️❤️

Bloor West Festival Day 2 - A place to come together — as a team, as one big family, as one strong community. 💙💛

Days like this remind us just how much support surrounds our seniors, and how deeply they matter to our community.

Good food for a good cause — together, we're telling our seniors how much they matter to us! Together, we're making a difference!

We’re getting ready to welcome you! 💙💛

The food is ready, our team is here, and the St. Demetrius Taste of Home tent is going up at the Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festival!

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes as we prepare for a wonderful weekend of Ukrainian food, culture and community.

Come visit us, meet our team and enjoy some traditional Ukrainian favourites — all while supporting a good cause.
