The PEO Kingsway Chapter is one of the 36 chapters of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) and represents roughly 900 engineers in the province. Logical.

Just where is the Kingsway Chapter? You might think, "I'm engineer. I live in Etobicoke. So I must belong to the Etobicoke chapter." But not the way it is. The Kingsway Chapter is one of 37 chapters in Ontario. Chapters are further subdivided into regions with Kingsway being part of the West Central region. If your postal code contains one of the following prefixes then you are in the Kingsway chapter: M8V M8W M8X M8Y M8Z

The PEO – Kingsway Chapter was proud to be represented at the Annual General Meeting of Professional Engineers Ontario in Ottawa yesterday by Chair Mohamed Abugazia and Vice Chair Florence Liu.

A key highlight was the successful passing of an important motion led by Darla Campbell, P.Eng., CSR-P, FEC, and Jeffrey Lee, reinforcing the value of the GLP program within chapters and its role in shaping future engineering leaders.

We are proud to be part of a profession that continues to champion leadership, engagement, and growth.

We recently had the privilege of hosting a joint P.Eng. Licence Presentation Ceremony with our colleagues from the Etobicoke and Toronto Humber Chapters. It was a meaningful celebration of achievement, dedication, and the next generation of leaders in our profession.

We were honoured to welcome Greg Wowchuk, Past President of Professional Engineers Ontario and current Council Speaker, who delivered an inspiring message about what it truly means to empower engineers. His insights set a thoughtful tone for the evening and resonated with everyone in attendance.

A heartfelt thank you to our MC, Linda Drisdelle, whose warmth, professionalism, and presence helped make the ceremony run smoothly and feel special for all involved.

I also want to recognize our incredible organizers: Michael Di Matteo, P.Eng , Tasneem Mazabeen, and Michal Lemeza, LSSGB, EIT, M. Eng. Candidate. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured the event was memorable and meaningful for our new licensees.

Most importantly, congratulations to all our new P.Eng. recipients. This milestone reflects years of perseverance and commitment to the highest standards of our profession. We’re excited to see where your journey takes you next.

Proud moment for the PEO - Kingsway Chapter and for our entire PEO community.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Chair and Vice Chair, casually holding it down for the Kingsway Chapter.
Not pictured: the hundreds of emails, spreadsheets, and late-night planning sessions.

πŸ”· PEO - Kingsway Chapter Networking & GTAA Cogeneration Plant Tour πŸ”·

Today, Kingsway Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario had the pleasure of hosting a unique technical tour at the GTAA Cogeneration Plant – and what an energizing experience it was!

βš™οΈ The Tour
Our members got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the cogeneration facility that helps power and heat Toronto Pearson International Airport. From gas turbines to heat recovery systems, the tour sparked meaningful conversations about sustainable energy, system resiliency, and engineering innovation in critical infrastructure.

πŸ™ Special thanks to the GTAA team for their hospitality and insight, and to all the volunteers and members who made the event a success. Your engagement is what drives our chapter forward.
