Hope you're all picking up copies of SUNDAYS IN NAMIBIA (once again, I recommend the e-book or kindle or whatever it's called - much cheaper and better picture quality).

In the meantime, you can have a look at these pix. Did a little Mediterranean circuit in the Spring, from Marseille to Skopje, making stops in Corsica, Sardinia, Tunisia, Bari (Italy), Albania and Macedonia. Should be sufficient fodder for another book. I'll let you know in five or ten years how it's progressing.

SUNDAYS IN NAMIBIA

Join me for fun and excitement as I traverse five nations on Africa’s southern flank. You’ll meet a host of eccentrics (both man and beast) and marvel at some of the planet’s greatest natural wonders.
Not going to lie. In these inflationary times, the hardcover and paperback volumes cost dear. The kindle version however, is a fraction of the price and the image quality is better - no small point since the book is plastered with nearly four hundred photographs - so you can’t go wrong.

Here’s the Amazon link for a sample read:

SUNDAYS IN NAMIBIA

Okay then. Here’s the new one. Join me as I dodge tooth and claw and vicious picnic table. Join me as I skirt Africa’s southern flank, from the party animals of Cape Town to the more dignified beasts of Hwange and Zambezi. In between, I scale the great dunes of Sossusvlei, drench in the thundering magnificence of Victoria Falls, attend white rhino seminars in Zambia, avoid elephant stomping at Gwango Safari Camp, play percussion for a Zimbabwe quartet and…well…get your volume now and enjoy the whole darn buffet.

My usual curdled snark is offset by over three hundred photographs, which regrettably pushed printing costs to the roof, so the price on hardcover and paperback is rather prohibitive. On the other hand, the e-book is only $4.99. Available at the usual outlets (see below):

COMING SOON: My new book. It’s called SUNDAYS IN NAMIBIA

Join me as I horn in on Africa’s southern flank, from the rocky roiling shores of Good Hope to the Okavango Delta. Through five nations we meet the beautiful folk of Cape Town’s posh coast, the beastly folk of the great national parks, the ruins of Great Zimbabwe and the tranquil wonders of the Zambezi River. Toss in one of the world’s great waterfalls, a bit of elephant stomping in Gwango, a rhino conference in Zambia, pesky monkeys, vicious picnic tables…and well, a full and vivid calendar of jungle lore, with over three hundred photographs to back it up.

TRAVEL SNIPPETS

Seven Christmas Eves ago:
My chain was as heavy as Mr. Marley’s and I have laboured on it since. ’Tis a ponderous chain.
Probably.

December 24, 2014, I was also drumming my fingers in Thanjavur, waiting for the Pondicherry Express and I met these little characters.

Dip below the Tropic of Capricorn and ride along Namibia's Skeleton Coast. Along the way there are giant crystals, barking seals, market vendors in the buff, and one of science fiction's most famous film locations.

If you’re itching for a bit of vicarious travel during the Great Plague Year, may I suggest these two titles: THE CULT OF HORN and EAST INFECTION.

From the lions of the Gir Forest, to the incredible temples of Madurai, Bangkok and Bagan; from the lush coastline of Goa and Kerala to the mosque city of Bagerhat, the dancing fisherman of Inle Lake and the road to Mandalay, join me on a rollicking bit of culture clash through India, Bangladesh, Thailand and Myanmar.

Both volumes available at Amazon and Chapters.Indigo.
