Each Makhana plant spends 8 months growing in the still waters of Bihar. Our farmers use regenerative and traditional farming practices where no pesticides, fertilizers, or chemicals of any sort are used in the process. The flowers are perennial, meaning they grow back every year without having to be planted again.
All of this is important because it limits soil manipulation & protects the delicate chemical balance of the surrounding ecosystem, ensuring our farmers can live off of their land for generations 👶🏽🧑🏾🦱🧑🏽🦰👨🏿🦳🧓🏾
