Releasing this in light of Facebook going completely offline on Monday, taking down WhatsApp and Instagram with it. This is a teaser for the workshop I'm running tomorrow at 5pm with on blogging and self-publishing on platforms. Last chance to sign up! I'll be talking about how to publish online, what it means to use different publishing platforms, and how to publish/blog independently (or decentralized from social media). At this time, it's critical for those of us that work online to clearly understand the trade-offs between publishing a site on our own platforms/publications versus using proprietary software.

I'm exhibiting my zine "this is a site: a website owners manual". “this is a site” focuses on structural aspects of site making, like buying a domain and building a foundation for your site. In 2020 we were forced to conduct ourselves online even more. This includes events, socializing and creativity. This is an introduction to some of the most common questions I get asked about site making to help you get started. Not to be confused with user experience (UX/UI) this book introduces websites in their most basic form, leaving space for makers to interpret the web for themselves.
