Heliosophy has re-launched! We’re an organizational consulting firm powered by behavioral science. We assess positive mindsets and positive workplaces. We help to instill these things through human-centered solutions, enabling teams to be purposeful, agile, resilient, and thriving in both stable and changing times.
What we do hasn’t changed much. However, continuous disruption over the past few years has highlighted the importance of what we do. We’re also doubling down on our evidence-based focus. In the future, we’ll demonstrate how science and rigor have returns on investment.

To celebrate our re-launch, we’re offering a free survey of positive mindsets and employee engagement. More on that next week.

A reminder of the disparity that often exists between the characteristics of the average human and the activities of the average job. Traditional jobs were designed to be narrow and non-overlapping for division of labour and maximum efficiencies, while humans are the result of millions of years of complex social and environmental selection pressures (i.e., evolution). Many organizations are surprised to learn that meaningful work is the lowest-rated dimension on their employee survey, and the strongest predictor of satisfaction, commitment, engagement, and stay intentions.

The interrelated roles of corporate social responsibility and stress in predicting job outcomes 07/04/2020

Is it more stressful to work for socially irresponsible companies? Our second paper on corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been published. It's the first to show a link between employees' perceptions of CSR and stress levels. Employees' CSR perceptions were also linked to depression symptoms, engagement, job satisfaction, commitment, and turnover intentions. Of course, no claims of cause and effect.
