At 12 Baskets Food Bank in Nova Scotia, volunteers give their time to make sure every person who walks through the door feels welcomed, supported and treated with dignity.

When school ends, meals stop for too many Calgary kids. This summer, you can help change that. 💚
This July & August, we need YOUR 🫵 help to pack snacks for children and youth across Calgary — because hunger doesn't take a summer break.
We're assembling 16,000 snack packs as part of Feeding Our Future, and each volunteer shift makes a real difference. Corporate and community groups are especially welcome!

Canada produces an abundance of food — but too much of it never reaches people's plates.
Yesterday, Second Harvest CEO Lori Nikkel appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food to share recommendations on strengthening food security in the face of global instability.
Her message: invest in Canadian processing capacity, reduce food waste, strengthen local food systems and support surplus food rescue programs that keep good food in Canadian communities.
Food waste reduction should be treated as a core food security policy — helping Canadian businesses, reducing emissions and improving access to nutritious food.

We set out to raise enough to rescue 1 million meals. And Canada showed up.
804,981 meals rescued. 🍽️
2,720,837 lbs of GHGs averted from the atmosphere. 🌍
521,144,926 litres of water prevented from going to waste. 💧
And a community that proved that when we race together, nobody gets left behind. 🤝
The Race to Rescue may be over, but the impact? That lives on...
Nous nous étions fixé pour objectif de récolter suffisamment de fonds pour récupérer 1 million de repas. Et le Canada a répondu.
