In partnership with international NGOs and grassroots organizations, IDRF helps disadvantaged individuals across the world where poverty, illiteracy and disease are rampant. Our programs rebuild communities through the provision of humanitarian aid, primary education, health care, clean water and sanitation, and create opportunities for income generation. In Canada we are dedicated to empowering local youth with programs that focus on peer tutoring for school-aged children, navigating the job market and teaching young women the digital skills to enter Tech. Hundreds of us came together at St. Patrick's Island to run, walk, and show up, for each other, for community, and for Lebanon.
Every step today was a reminder that showing up in person still means something. Thank you to everyone who ran, cheered, volunteered, and made this day what it was.

Three years into the crisis, winter is still one of the harshest parts of displacement for families in Gaza, and warmth has become one of the clearest ways our community has stepped up.
Here's what that support has looked like:

When the floods hit, they didn't just take homes; they took classrooms too.
For one young girl in Pakistan, a single school is all that remains. She still goes every day, holding onto a dream that hasn't washed away with everything else: becoming a lawyer.
Education isn't just her path forward. It's her way of rebuilding a future the floods tried to take from her.

More than three years into the crisis, education in Gaza remains one of the most disrupted parts of childhood, and one of the most urgent needs our community continues to respond to.
Here's what that disruption looks like:
📚 658,000+ children have had no access to school for consecutive academic years
🏫 Nearly 88% of school buildings need major reconstruction
But school was never just about learning. For many children, it was their safety and their routine. Through our Gaza PSS program, we're helping kids rebuild both, even when classrooms can't reopen.
