Join Ontario Nature in partnership with Walk It Off Neuro-Recovery and Wellness Centre on Fri Aug 21, 2026, 10 am - noon, for an inclusive and accessible hike at the Cawthra Mulock Nature Reserve for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about biodiversity and ecology in your own backyard, while exploring the accessible trail at CMNR and ensuring its preservation for years to come!
When: Fri 21 Aug 2026 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Cawthra Mulock Nature Reserve, L3Y4V9
The trail is 538 metres long and includes guiding ropes, a wide and firm surface, benches, and gentle slopes. The hike will begin with a welcome circle to foster mutual respect and understanding of all participants and then move along the trail at a suitable pace for all, allowing frequent stops for rest, questions, and observations of local biodiversity.

It's International Owl Awareness Day, and here's a story full of hope.🦉
Wildlife photographer Nathan Clark has been respectfully following this pair of great grey owls from a distance for the past five seasons. After losing an owlet in 2024 and not nesting at all in 2025, they successfully raised a healthy owlet this year!
International Owl Awareness Day was established to promote public education about owls and encourage more people to support efforts to protect their habitat.

Ontario Nature staff and volunteers will lead short hikes along the accessible trail of this property that features Canadian shield with granite outcroppings and an 'eyed bog.' Learn about the unique ecological features of the area and rare species on the property including Virginia meadow-beauty and white fringed orchids.
Afterwards, everyone is invited to join us at the Bornstein Family cottage on Lake Joseph, a short 10-minute drive away. The Bornstein Family, Ontario Nature members, have kindly offered to host a gathering at their cottage. Join us for cold drinks, snacks and a chance to socialize with fellow nature-lovers while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. Thank you, Brian and Jan!

🌿 Together for Nature Tour | September 15–18, 2026 🎶
Join us this September for an unforgettable evening of story and music as Indigenous artists, youth, and land protectors travel from Northern Ontario to communities across Southern Ontario.
Featuring Susan Aglukark, alongside Okiniwak, Here We Stand, and the Friends of the Attawapiskat River, this tour is an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples to come together to raise our voices for nature and all our relations through story and song.

BREAKING NEWS:The Federal government says it won't support Ontario's Billy Bishop Airport Expansion. 🚫✈️
This is a win for nature and proof that ✨collective action✨ can make real change! 🌿
Ontario Nature is recognizing the hard work of our Nature Network groups, Toronto Field Naturalists, Toronto Nature Stewards and Toronto Ornithological Club, who tirelessly advocated for the protection of nature and the Toronto Islands.
Transport Minister Steve McKinnon said the government received more than 87,000 responses to its consultation on the airport expansion.
Thank you to everyone who spoke up to protect this vital habitat for wildlife and the people who cherish it. This victory shows we are stronger together. 💚
