A new study published in JAMA Network Open followed more than 5,000 women aged 63–99 and found:
• Women with stronger grip strength had 33% lower risk of death
• Faster chair-stand performance was linked to 31% lower mortality
• Every 7 kg increase in grip strength was associated with ~12% lower mortality
Even more interesting:
These benefits were seen regardless of physical activity levels, BMI, or chronic disease.
👉 Translation: Strength matters. A lot.
And the good news?
You don’t need a gym. Resistance can be built with simple tools — even household items.
