Today in Toronto, Prime Minister Carney met with the President of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
As one of Canada's largest trading partners among the Caribbean Community, the leaders discussed opportunities to increase Canadian investment in Guyana in a range of sectors, including energy, technology, agriculture, and mining.

Big fight Saturday between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland at UFC 328.
Chimaev’s wrestling pressure and aggressive pace make him one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC. Strickland on the other hand brings elite cardio, nonstop pressure, and strong boxing fundamentals.
If Chimaev gets early takedowns, he could dominate the fight. But if Strickland survives the first rounds and keeps it standing, things could get very interesting late.
My prediction: Chimaev by submission or dominant decision, but Strickland’s toughness can never be counted out. This one is personal and should be explosive.
🚨Canada has announced $270 million in new military support for Ukraine.
Canada has pledged another $270 million in military assistance to Ukraine, strengthening its defence against Russia’s ongoing invasion.
Prime Minister Mark Carney shared the announcement during a European summit in Armenia, telling Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Canada stands firmly with Ukraine.
The funding will support equipment purchases from a NATO list, bringing Canada’s total aid to Ukraine to $25.8 billion.
